What it does
MCP Hub adds a single interface to Neovim for working with MCP servers. It connects local servers over stdio and remote ones over streamable-HTTP or SSE, supports OAuth with PKCE and headers for keys. Through it a server's tools, resources, resource templates and prompts become available to the Avante, CodeCompanion and CopilotChat chat plugins. It has a built-in marketplace to discover and install servers, including with the help of an agent, environment variable and substitution support in the config, project-local configs and sync across all running Neovim instances. You can write native MCP servers directly in Lua and hot-reload them in dev mode.

It runs only in Neovim 0.8.0 or newer and needs Node.js 18 or newer and plenary.nvim. Managing servers needs the mcp-hub binary, installed by the plugin's build command. Capabilities depend on the chat plugin: Avante, CodeCompanion and CopilotChat are supported. Roots and sampling from the MCP spec are not supported.
How to disable. Remove the plugin entry from your Neovim plugin manager config and, if you like, the global mcp-hub binary.
