Text for your agent

Run npx skills add datalens-tech/datalens-skills --skill datalens for the entry point, then add datalens-sdk, datalens-html-pages or datalens-yc-rls-resolve the same way, depending on your task.

Other ways from the author
npx skills add datalens-tech/datalens-skills --skill datalens

Universal install via the skills CLI, auto-detecting your agent. Swap datalens for another skill name for the rest.

How we review

Medium riskWe rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.

  • datalens-sdk can create and change connections, datasets and dashboards in your DataLens install
  • datalens-yc-rls-resolve works with row-level access rights configuration

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

The project gives four skills for working with DataLens under the open Agent Skills standard. The datalens skill is the entry point: it explains what DataLens is, how installations differ, the entity model, and which interface (SDK, MCP, API, UI) fits the task, routing to the right skill. datalens-sdk drives development in Python: connections, datasets, charts, dashboards, loading its instructions straight from the installed SDK package so they always match its version. datalens-html-pages authors, sanitizes, validates and publishes standalone HTML pages (AI-generated reports) that render in a sandboxed iframe under an injected CSP. datalens-yc-rls-resolve resolves Yandex Cloud users and groups into DataLens RLSv2 subject IDs, or converts a legacy rls config to rls2.

Who it is for. For analysts and developers on DataLens building dashboards, automated reports and access-rights setups through an agent.

Good fit when

  • You are not sure where to start with DataLens through an agent: the datalens skill routes you to the right one
  • You need to programmatically create connections, datasets and dashboards in Python
  • You need to safely publish an agent-generated HTML report in a DataLens sandbox

Not a fit when

  • You need a different BI tool, not Yandex DataLens
  • You do not use RLSv2 or Yandex Cloud IAM, so the rights-resolution skill does not apply
  • Your agent cannot read markdown skills or run Python or Node scripts

Example request

Create a DataLens dataset from my connection and build a monthly sales dashboard

Limitations

The project is marked work in progress by DataLens itself. Installing via codex plugin marketplace needs Codex CLI 0.142.0 or newer. External contributors must accept the Yandex CLA to contribute.

How to disable. Delete the relevant skill folder from .claude/skills, .agents/skills or .opencode/skills, or run /plugin uninstall datalens-skills in Claude Code.

FAQ

Where do I start if I do not know DataLens?

With the datalens skill: it explains the entity model and routes to the right specialized skill.

Can I install it as a native Claude Code plugin?

Yes, with /plugin marketplace add datalens-tech/datalens-skills and /plugin install datalens-skills@datalens.

README in short

The English README from the DataLens team describes the four skills in a table and three install paths: a universal npx skills add with agent auto-detection, native Codex and Claude Code plugins via a marketplace, and manually copying a skill folder. It also covers validation: frontmatter checks, SDK bootstrap, the HTML page linter and offline RLS resolver tests, all run in CI on every PR.
