FDEOps
A skills pack for forward deployed engineers: turn a customer problem into a working system from strategy to handoff
Medium risk
We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.
Why this level
- Skills change code and run checks in the project
- They write local customer memory to disk
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/fdeopsDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.
Other ways to install
Run in a terminal in the project folder
npx skills add suboss87/fdeops --skill fde -a claude-code -yThe skills tool installs the current version from the repository. Add the -g flag to use the skill in every project.

Install the coordinator: npx skills add suboss87/fdeops --skill fde, then select fde in the agent. For a single task install one skill, for example --skill build.
Other ways from the author
npx skills add suboss87/fdeops --skill fdeInstalls the fde coordinator with all methods. For a single task use --skill build and so on.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
FDEOps gives an AI agent a set of skills around a forward deployed engineer's work: clarify the goal, choose an architecture, build and integrate a solution, verify the result and prepare for rollout. Skills can be invoked one at a time, or handed to the fde coordinator that switches the right method as work changes. Customer memory keeps decisions, evidence and next steps in local Markdown files and carries context between sessions. The skills fall into three groups: strategy, architecture and engineering.
Who it is for. For engineers and teams who deliver solutions at customer sites through an AI agent.
Good fit when
- You need to turn a customer request into a problem, a success measure and a scope
- You need to choose an architecture within customer constraints
- You need to keep project memory between meetings and sessions
Not a fit when
- The work is personal rather than customer delivery
- You want a finished product rather than agent playbooks
Example request
Use FDEOps build to add a manual-review fallback to the routing service; here are the agreed behavior and repositoryLimitations
Installation needs Node.js and Git, and the record CLI needs Node.js 18+. The skills help investigate, build and verify, but a passing local test does not confirm deployment or customer acceptance. Customer memory is local Markdown files that you store and protect yourself.
How to disable. Remove the installed skills from the agent's directory; the ~/fde-engagements memory folder can be removed manually.
Security check
- Skills change code and run checks in the project
- They write local customer memory to disk
README in short
The README describes FDEOps as skills for forward deployed engineers used through an AI agent. Work runs through the fde coordinator or as separate skills across three tracks: strategy (discover, scope, who-decides), architecture (options, plan, integrate) and engineering (build, debug, review, ship, handoff). Customer memory lives in local Markdown files and carries decisions and evidence between sessions. Install is via npx skills add, with a demo mode that calls no model.
FAQ
Do I have to install the fde coordinator?
No. You can install a single skill such as build and work with supplied context without a customer record.
How can I see how it works?
The npx fdeops demo command turns fictional meeting notes into a review and a fieldbook, with no model call.
