Download 1c-form-viewer-native-*-win-x64.zip from the Releases page at github.com/alonehobo/BslEdit, unpack it and connect the MCP server to your agent following the instructions in guide/mcp.md.

What it does
The project bundles four tools on a shared preview engine: BSLView, a Total Commander lister plugin with BSL highlighting, a procedure panel and a visual view of forms, templates and metadata objects straight from a configuration export; BSLEdit, the same functionality as a standalone editor with no Total Commander needed; the 1C Form Viewer extension for VS Code, with a form preview next to the XML and chat-driven editing; and 1C Form Viewer MCP, a server that lets an agent see a form, add and move elements, change properties, attributes and commands, take PNG screenshots, and build a spreadsheet document template from an Excel file with marked-up areas and parameters. All the tools work locally with exported files, with no 1C running and no internet.
Who it is for. For 1C developers who want to see forms and templates the same way as in the Configurator, and for those who let an agent edit forms and build print templates without manually touching XML.
Good fit when
- You need to quickly view a form, template or metadata object from an export without opening 1C
- You need an agent in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex to edit form elements and see the result immediately
- You need to turn a ready Excel file into a spreadsheet document print template
Not a fit when
- You are not on Windows: the tools require Windows 10/11 and the WebView2 Runtime
- You need to edit the BSL code inside a form, not its visual elements: the MCP server works with forms and templates, not business logic
- The MCP server needs an installed Edge or Chrome, which is missing from the environment

All the tools run on Windows 10/11 with the WebView2 Runtime only, and the MCP server additionally needs Edge or Chrome installed. Editing works against configuration export files on disk, not a live base: changes need to be loaded back into the Configurator separately. The form element model used for editing is taken from the cc-1c-skills project, not built from scratch.
How to disable. Remove the MCP server from the agent config and, if installed, the 1C Form Viewer extension from VS Code or the BSLView plugin from Total Commander.

Is Total Commander required to use it?
No, BSLEdit provides the same viewing and editing functionality as a standalone program with no Total Commander needed.
Can an agent build a print template from Excel?
Yes, the MCP server turns an .xlsx file into a Template.xml with marked-up areas, parameters and formatting.
