What it does
The server wraps the Finam Trade API in a set of MCP tools: account balance and status, transaction and trade history, an instrument list searchable by ticker and exchange, trading schedules and option boards, historical candles at several timeframes, quotes, the order book and recent trades. A separate group of tools handles orders: placing market, limit and stop orders, cancelling one order or all of them, and reading active and historical orders. A demo account lets you try it without real money.
Who it is for. For Finam clients who want to trade and watch the market through an agent conversation instead of a trading terminal.
Good fit when
- You want to ask about your Finam account balance, positions or trade history in plain language
- You need to quickly place or cancel a market, limit or stop order
- You need historical candles or current quotes for a specific instrument for analysis
Not a fit when
- You cannot risk the agent sending a real-money order by mistake: start with a demo account
- You need to trade on exchanges the Finam Trade API does not cover

The repository is archived and will not receive further updates, though the code works and the package stays on PyPI. Requires Finam Trade API keys; a demo account is free. Needs Python 3.12+ and the uv manager. Every order executes on the real or demo account without an extra confirmation step inside the server itself.
How to disable. Remove the finam block from your MCP client config, for example claude mcp remove finam in Claude Code.

Can I try it without real money?
Yes, Finam gives a free demo account with its own API keys, and you can exercise every server tool on it.
Is the project still maintained?
The repository is archived and the author does not promise further updates, but the code and the PyPI package remain functional.
