MCP Bridge for Adobe Premiere Pro
MCP server that drives local Adobe Premiere Pro projects from Claude, Codex and other MCP clients
Medium risk
We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.
Why this level
- Modifies local Premiere projects and has destructive delete operations
- Runs arbitrary ExtendScript and sends anonymous telemetry by default
Install
Manual install
npm install -g adobe-premiere-pro-mcp
premiere-pro-mcp --install-cep
premiere-pro-mcp --doctorAfter install restart Premiere and start the Window > Extensions > MCP Bridge (CEP) panel.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The server gives the agent access to Adobe Premiere Pro operations through MCP: media import, sequence creation, timeline editing, transitions, effects, keyframes, titles, audio work, markers and export. The catalog holds hundreds of tools that the agent finds via search_tools and calls via invoke_tool, so the full list does not fill the context. A Node server generates ExtendScript, and a CEP panel inside Premiere runs it and returns the result. Before edits it is worth calling verify_premiere_connection to check readiness.
Who it is for. For video editors and SMM specialists who work in Premiere Pro and want to automate editing.
Good fit when
- You want a rough cut or clips laid onto the timeline via agent commands
- You need to add transitions, effects or markers in bulk
- You need to check a project and prepare an export
Not a fit when
- Adobe Premiere Pro is not installed on the same machine
- You work on someone else's or a production project without a backup
- You are not ready for anonymous telemetry that is on by default
Example request
Verify the Premiere connection, list all sequences and add cross dissolves to every cut on video track 1Limitations
You need Node 20 or newer and Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 or newer, with Premiere, the MCP client and the package on the same machine. The supported bridge is the CEP panel; the UXP panel is still experimental. Anonymous telemetry is on by default and is disabled via the PREMIERE_MCP_TELEMETRY variable or the panel settings. There are destructive delete tools and arbitrary ExtendScript execution, so use with care.
How to disable. Remove the premiere-pro server from the MCP client config, stop the CEP panel in Premiere and uninstall the global npm package.

| PREMIERE_MCP_TELEMETRY | Set to 0 to disable anonymous telemetry, which is on by default. |
| PREMIERE_TEMP_DIR | The script exchange directory for the CEP panel, by default /tmp/premiere-mcp-bridge. |

README in short
The README describes a local MCP server with hundreds of Premiere Pro tools for Codex, Claude Code, Claude Desktop and other clients. Installation is via npm and the install-cep command, then the CEP panel runs inside Premiere. Tools are reached through search_tools and invoke_tool, with ready assembly workflows. Telemetry, privacy and the verify_premiere_connection check are documented. MIT licensed.
FAQ
Why so many tools, and not all visible at once?
The catalog holds hundreds of operations; by default the server shows a small set, and the agent finds the rest via search_tools and calls them via invoke_tool to save context.
What else is needed besides the server?
Adobe Premiere Pro installed on the same machine and the CEP panel running inside Premiere, through which the scripts execute.
