What it does
Silex is a free visual website builder on top of GrapesJS: it assembles static pages with dynamic data and runs as an online editor and as a Tauri desktop app. The desktop version, still in alpha, has a built-in MCP server: the agent connects to it and helps build and edit the site right in the editor. Silex uses the open MCP standard, so you choose the model, down to a local one via Ollama for full privacy, and the server is tuned for small local models. The project extends through GrapesJS plugins and supports 11ty compatibility, SEO tools and self-hosting.

The MCP server is built into the Silex desktop app, still in alpha, so it must be installed and running, and the agent connects at a local address. The server is tuned for small local models, and some vibe-coding features are still in progress. The online version and self-hosting are separate ways to work.
How to disable. Remove the Silex MCP server address from the agent config and close the Silex desktop app.
