Notion MCP Server
A Notion MCP server: the agent searches, reads, queries and updates workspace pages and databases
High risk
We rate an entry high when the tool writes to external systems, handles money, production databases or secrets, or runs arbitrary commands. The CLI installs it only with your consent.
Why this level
- Writes and updates real Notion pages and databases
- Handles a workspace access token
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add mcp/suekou-mcp-notion-serverDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.
Other ways to install
This entry is high risk, so there is no one-click install. Review the code and add the config by hand.
Run in a terminal
claude mcp add --transport stdio --env 'NOTION_API_TOKEN=<your NOTION_API_TOKEN>' notion -- npx -y @suekou/mcp-notion-serverOr add to the file .mcp.json, in the project

}
}
}
}If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key.
Keys and settings

What it does
The server connects the agent to the Notion API and keeps responses compact for day-to-day work. The agent searches pages and targets via notion_find, reads pages with stable block IDs, inspects data source schemas and runs schema-aware queries, and creates items with simple values. There are simple editing tools for paragraphs, headings, lists, todos, quotes, callouts, code blocks and safe Markdown append, plus raw API calls for advanced block, page, database, comment and user operations. It targets Notion's current database and data source model and can return structured results, prompts and resources, plus optional interactive apps.
Who it is for. For teams and specialists who keep documents and databases in Notion and want to manage them through an agent.
Good fit when
- You need the agent to search and read Notion pages
- You need to query databases and create items
- You need to edit pages or append content from the agent
Not a fit when
- You have no Notion integration and token
- You cannot give the agent access to the workspace
Example request
Find the tasks database in Notion and add a new task due FridayLimitations
It needs a Notion internal integration token and only sees what the integration is granted. Read, insert and update permissions are set on the integration, so grant only what is needed. Update operations change real pages and databases.
How to disable. Remove the notion server from your MCP config and optionally disable the integration in Notion.

README in short
The README describes an MCP server for the Notion API that helps an agent search, read, query and update workspaces while keeping responses compact. It targets the current database and data source model, offers editing tools, raw API calls and optional interactive apps. Install is via npx with a NOTION_API_TOKEN variable, with a guide for creating an integration and granting rights. MIT licensed.
FAQ
Where do I get the token?
Create an internal integration in the Notion integrations dashboard and grant it only the read, insert and update rights you need.
Can the server change data?
Yes, with the granted rights it creates and updates pages, blocks and database items.
