What it does
Tabularis is an open-source desktop SQL workspace on Tauri with three built-in database drivers and a set of plugins, including SQL Server, DuckDB, ClickHouse, Redis and Firestore. It has SQL notebooks, visual EXPLAIN, a query builder and relationship diagrams. A built-in MCP server lets Claude, Cursor and Devin read your schema and run queries in the same app you work in, so the agent sees the same connections. Drivers and features extend through plugins, and there is a package for building your own driver.

The MCP server is built into the desktop app, so it must be installed; builds exist for Windows, macOS and Linux. The agent's reach is bounded by the connections and permissions set in the client. Change queries affect real data, so prefer a test database or replica for agent access.
How to disable. Disable the built-in MCP server in Tabularis settings, remove its entry from the agent config and, if you wish, uninstall the app.
