Manual install
docker compose up --build -dAfter creating .env with TOPICS_HOST_PATH and STDLIB_HOST_PATH and the data/uploads and data/index folders.

What it does
The server indexes pre-prepared topics and stdlib documentation folders for the 1C:Element platform through SQLite FTS5, supports html, markdown and PDF, and can incrementally reindex only changed files. Users can add their own markdown and PDF files, including Cyrillic file names, via the admin API or the built-in browser UI. Search and documents are served to an agent over MCP through a Streamable HTTP endpoint at /mcp, with a separate UI for search and index administration. It runs locally via uv or in Docker, with all source paths set through environment variables.

The project does not ship the 1C:Element documentation itself, only indexes already prepared folders whose path must be obtained separately. Basic auth for admin routes is optional and not enabled by default. Reindexing after changing paths in Docker requires manually updating .env and restarting the container.
How to disable. Stop the server with docker compose down or interrupt the uv run xbsl-mcp-docs process, then remove the server from your MCP client config.
