What it does
The plugin joins an Azure knowledge layer with an execution layer over MCP. The skills describe working scenarios: prepare, validate, deploy and upgrade apps, diagnostics and monitoring, cost and quotas, and work across data, AI, identity and networking, with ready steps and guardrails. The MCP layer wires in the Azure MCP Server with tools for more than forty Azure services and Foundry MCP for Microsoft Foundry scenarios. It installs with one command in Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and other compatible agents, and through APM across several environments at once. It needs Node.js to run and an Azure CLI sign-in to reach resources.
Who it is for. For engineers and devops specialists who run infrastructure and apps on Azure together with an agent.

You need an Azure account, Node.js 18 or newer, and an Azure CLI sign-in via az login, plus the Azure Developer CLI for deployments. The tools act on live resources and require permissions in the subscription. Azure service availability from Russia is limited, so without a working account and connection the plugin will not function. The server collects telemetry, which is turned off with the AZURE_MCP_COLLECT_TELEMETRY environment variable.
How to disable. Remove the plugin with the /plugin command in your agent, or drop its MCP configuration.
