What it does
Citadel installs as a plugin into the Claude Code or Codex marketplace and adds a single /do entry point that parses a request and routes it to the right step-by-step workflow. Project state, plans, execution receipts and session handoffs are stored inside the repository, so the agent keeps context across restarts. The bundle ships dozens of skills, hooks and several MCP servers for codebase memory, state and context compression. Installation is pinned to a specific release and scoped to one repository, and every change is reversible.
Who it is for. For developers on Claude Code or Codex who need project memory, guardrails and coordination of parallel agent work.

It needs Claude Code or Codex, Node.js 22 or newer and a git repository. There is no separate npm package; installation goes through the runtime's plugin marketplace and is pinned to a release tag, with a signed release archive for offline install. Citadel state lives inside the repository, so it falls under version control.
How to disable. Remove the plugin via the runtime's plugin command (claude plugin remove citadel or codex plugin remove citadel) and delete the Citadel state directories created in the project.
