What it does
The repository is a marketplace of community-written plugins for Claude Code and Claude Cowork. The .claude-plugin/marketplace.json file holds the list of available plugins and is synced nightly from Anthropic's internal review pipeline. Each plugin gets here through a submission form on Anthropic's side, passes automated security scanning and is approved. In Claude Code the marketplace is added with claude plugin marketplace add, after which plugins install by name. A plugin can bundle commands, agents, skills and MCP configuration. Pull requests opened directly against the repo are closed automatically: all changes flow through the submission pipeline.

This is a read-only mirror synced from Anthropic's internal pipeline, so plugins cannot be added to the repository directly. Plugins are written by the community: despite security scanning and approval, each plugin's author is responsible for its code. Installed plugins can run commands and connect MCP servers, so each one carries its own access.
How to disable. Remove installed plugins with claude plugin uninstall and detach the marketplace with claude plugin marketplace remove claude-community.
