MathModeling-skills
A skill set for math modeling contests: problem parsing, method selection, Python and MATLAB code, and paper writing
Medium risk
We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.
Why this level
- Generates and runs Python and MATLAB code
- Installs via an install.sh script
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add plugins/mathmodeling-skillsDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.
Other ways to install
Run one by one in the Claude Code chat
/plugin marketplace add zhnnky329/mathmodeling-skills
/plugin install mathmodeling-skills@mathmodeling-skillsClone and run the installer: git clone https://github.com/zhnnky329/MathModeling-skills.git, cd MathModeling-skills, ./install.sh. Keep the clone; it is the update source.
Other ways from the author
git clone https://github.com/zhnnky329/MathModeling-skills.git
cd MathModeling-skills
./install.shBy default installs for Claude Code and Codex; use --target claude to pick one.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The plugin bundles a few dozen skills that walk through the stages of math modeling: parsing and classifying the problem, building assumptions, selecting a method family, generating and reviewing Python and MATLAB code, planning figures and tables, writing and polishing paper sections, and auditing completeness and consistency. The current version is an assistant, not an autopilot: key judgments go back to the user so the work fits contest rules and builds skill. The earlier fully automatic version is kept on a separate branch. It installs with one command as a native plugin for Claude Code and Codex.
Who it is for. For students and participants in math modeling contests and those helping them.
Good fit when
- You need to parse a modeling problem and choose a method
- You need Python or MATLAB code for a model
- You need to write up a paper with figures and tables
Not a fit when
- You want a full autopilot without your input
- The task is not about math modeling
Example request
Parse this modeling problem, suggest a method and prepare Python codeLimitations
The plugin assists and keeps key decisions with you; it does not run the contest for you. Results depend on your data and chosen method. The MATLAB code branch targets that environment. Check compliance with your specific contest rules.
How to disable. Uninstall the mathmodeling-skills plugin via /plugin or remove its marketplace.
Security check
- Generates and runs Python and MATLAB code
- Installs via an install.sh script
README in short
The README describes a set of 28 skills for math modeling contests for Claude Code and Codex with a staged process. It notes the version became an assistant rather than an autopilot: key decisions go back to the user, and the full-auto version is kept on a legacy branch. There are Python and MATLAB code branches. Install is a single install.sh that registers the marketplace and installs the plugin for one or both hosts. MIT licensed.
FAQ
Does it run the contest for me?
No, the current version is an assistant: the user makes key decisions, and a fully automatic version is on a separate branch.
Is MATLAB supported?
Yes, there is a MATLAB code branch alongside Python.
