AppMetrica and Yandex Ads version compatibility skill

appmetrica-yandex-versions

A Claude Code skill that matches compatible versions of the AppMetrica Unity plugin and the AppLovin MAX Yandex Ads adapter via a table

Skill

Low risk

We rate an entry low when it mostly gives the agent instructions and reference material.

Why this level

  • Only reads the version table and suggests a compatible pair; it does not modify project dependencies

Text for your agent

Clone the skill into ~/.claude/skills/appmetrica-yandex-versions (or the project's .claude/skills for a single repo) and trigger it explicitly with /appmetrica-yandex-versions or by mentioning a version of either plugin in the request.

Other ways from the author
git clone https://github.com/AlexZonov/claude-skill-appmetrica-yandex.git ~/.claude/skills/appmetrica-yandex-versions

For a single project, clone into <project>/.claude/skills/ instead of ~/.claude/.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

Both plugins pull in the same native AppMetrica SDK, and when versions diverge Gradle resolves the conflict silently: the build stays green while the SDK combination goes untested, with no explicit error. The skill triggers itself when a request mentions a version of either plugin or their packages io.appmetrica.analytics, com.applovin.mediation:yandex-adapter, com.yandex.android:mobileads, and picks a compatible pair from a version-matrix table instead of guessing. The version table and its Maven/CocoaPods update script live in references/version-matrix.md, with skill-creator test cases in evals/evals.json.

Who it is for. For Unity mobile developers wiring up AppLovin MAX monetization with the Yandex Ads adapter on top of AppMetrica.

Good fit when

  • You are updating the AppMetrica Unity plugin and are unsure which Yandex Ads adapter matches it
  • The build succeeds but Yandex ads in MAX behave unpredictably after a dependency bump
  • You are setting up Unity monetization from scratch and want a verified version pair from the start

Not a fit when

  • The project does not use the AppMetrica Unity plugin and the AppLovin MAX Yandex Ads adapter together
  • You need general AppMetrica help, not a version match for these two specific packages

Example request

I want to bump AppMetrica Unity to 6.9.0, which yandex-adapter should I use?

Limitations

The version table is a snapshot as of the last commit: both SDKs ship every few weeks, and it needs regular refreshing via the script in references/version-matrix.md and committing back to the repo. The skill only covers the Unity plugin and MAX adapter pairing, not other AppMetrica platforms.

How to disable. Delete the appmetrica-yandex-versions folder from ~/.claude/skills or the project's .claude/skills.

Security check

  • Only reads the version table and suggests a compatible pair; it does not modify project dependencies

README in short

The README explains the silent Gradle version resolution problem, gives an install command by cloning into ~/.claude/skills, describes automatic and explicit triggering via /appmetrica-yandex-versions, a table of skill files, and a reminder to keep the version table current.

FAQ

Why not just use the latest versions of both plugins?

Gradle silently resolves the shared AppMetrica SDK version conflict, so the build stays green even with an untested combination.

How do I refresh the version table?

The regeneration script from Maven and CocoaPods is at the end of references/version-matrix.md; commit the result back to the repo.
