Broad access
Why this level
- A connected agent receives full access to the Kody account, its data and saved automations.
- Local execution runs code in the agent computer’s environment.
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/kody-cli-skillDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

Access and checks
How we reviewBroad accessThe tool can change data, run commands or handle secrets.
- A connected agent receives full access to the Kody account, its data and saved automations.
- Local execution runs code in the agent computer’s environment.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The Kody skill installs the CLI and teaches an agent how to begin using an account from a shell. It gives the agent access to saved actions from its working environment. Installation copies a starter skill and retrieves the full skill from the service. Later CLI runs compare the hosted digest and refresh the local copy when it changes. Kody stores shared memory and packages of saved code callable from different agents, along with background jobs. When MCP is already connected, the agent can request a CLI sign-in command through it without having a token pasted into chat.
Who it is for. For developers who want different coding agents and local scripts to use the same Kody account.
Good fit when
- Continue working with a package created by another connected agent.
- Run one-off code on a local computer while accessing account data.
- Install current CLI instructions into the agent’s environment.
- Keep a service-side automation running after the computer is closed.
Not a fit when
- Project policy forbids downloading changing instructions from the network.
- You need fully offline memory without a cloud account.
- The connected agent must receive only a restricted subset of account permissions.
Example request
Connect Kody CLI, show the current user and find a package for my task without modifying data.Limitations
Local code execution needs Node.js 22 or later and a shell on the agent’s computer. Kody sign-in requires a verified email address, so incomplete email verification prevents connection. Approving MCP gives the agent full access to account data and automations; this connection offers no restricted permission subset. Plan limits are published at `https://kody.codes/pricing`; compare them with the selected execution environment before a background job.
How to disable. Revoke the unwanted agent in the Kody account’s Agents section. Remove the local skill if no longer needed; inspect saved packages and jobs separately.
FAQ
Do I need a separate Kody chat?
No. You keep using your existing agent; Kody adds shared data and saved execution.
How do hosts without a terminal connect?
Through MCP with OAuth. The hosted endpoint is `https://kody.codes/mcp`; self-hosted deployments expose `/mcp` on their own origin.
Where is the complete skill text?
At `https://kody.codes/.well-known/agent-skills/kody-cli/SKILL.md`. The repository’s starter file points to this version.
What if tools do not appear after sign-in?
Start a new conversation. Some clients bind their MCP tool set when a conversation begins.
Can teams use Kody together?
Yes. The platform supports organizations, teams and grants while keeping account state isolated.

README in short
The platform runs on Cloudflare Workers and favors a compact search-and-execute surface over a long static tool list. Its documentation separately covers packages, inbound webhooks and durable jobs.

# Kody CLI
Always-current skill:

Index (with digests): https://kody.codes/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json
## Quick start
```bash
npx -y @kodycodes/cli@latest skill install
npx -y @kodycodes/cli@latest execute --local --code 'import { kody } from "kody:runtime"; export default async function main() { return await kody.metaGetCurrentUser({}) }'
```
If the CLI is not signed in and you already have Kody MCP: call `api` with
`cliCredentialBootstrap`, then run the returned `cli_command`. Interactive
humans: `npx -y @kodycodes/cli@latest login`.
`kody skill install` copies this stub and refreshes the full hosted body when
reachable. Later CLI runs refresh local copies when the hosted digest changes.
