Extended access
Why this level
- The agent writes files into the vault and runs other agents local CLIs, and the web app listens on `127.0.0.1`.
- Remote mode, if enabled, sends material to the named server (`https://my-wiki.cloud` by default).
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/my-wikiDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
My Wiki is a project and skill for a local knowledge base run by an AI agent. The agent saves web pages, PDFs, scans, images and Office documents as sources next to their originals, extracts readable text and distills short concepts with relationships and links back to the source. Questions are answered from the concepts, and important conclusions are checked against the source text. A local web app called the knowledge universe adds a graph, a Markdown workbench and the Viki chat. Knowledge lives in Markdown, original files and snapshots inside a folder you choose. No cloud database or paid API is required by default. The separate my-wiki-skill calls an installed project from any working directory in Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw or Hermes Agent.
Who it is for. Researchers, students and analysts whose PDFs, articles and scans keep piling up and who want answers they can check against the source.
Good fit when
- A folder of PDFs, scans and saved articles has grown, and you want short linked notes that point back to the original.
- A question about collected material needs an answer that shows which source each conclusion came from.
- You want notes kept in plain Markdown files that Obsidian can open too.
- The vault sits on one computer and has to be read from another through the skill remote mode.
Not a fit when
- You have a dozen notes, and a plain file or Obsidian without an agent is enough.
- The material is confidential and the agent runs on a cloud model, so the texts reach that provider.
- You need vector search over a very large corpus: the project has no built-in RAG, and the author leaves it for later.
Example request
Save this article and PDF into the knowledge base, update the related concepts and show which source the conclusion rests on.Limitations
The skill calls the main project and does not contain it. You need Node.js 18 or newer, a clone of the repository and `npm run setup`; if the project or vault is missing, the agent asks for confirmation and then creates them. The web app starts only on an explicit request and listens on `127.0.0.1`, while internet access is configured separately through Cloudflare Tunnel and GitHub sign-in. Parsing and distillation run in a local agent (Codex, OpenCode, Qoder or Claude CLI) under your own login, so quality and usage depend on it. The main documentation is written in Chinese, and an English version sits in `README.en.md`.
How to disable. Remove the skill folder from the agent skills directory. The project clone and the vault stay on disk, so delete them by hand if the knowledge is no longer needed. Stop a running web app by ending its process.
FAQ
Do I need the skill to use My Wiki?
No. Open the repository clone as the agent working folder and the agent reads `AGENTS.md` and works with the CLI and the knowledge universe directly. The skill is for calling the same project from other folders.
Which agents are supported?
The installer detects Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw and Hermes Agent by itself. Other agents that read `SKILL.md` get a directory through the `--dir` flag.
Where is the knowledge stored?
In a folder you pick: concepts in `concepts/`, sources and originals in `references/`, service data in `.my-wiki/`. You can open that folder in Obsidian.
How do I pass knowledge to another person?
Export a knowledge section into a `.mywiki` bundle and send the file. The recipient imports it in their own web app after a preview.
What does the Viki chat do?
Viki answers from concepts, sources and related images and shows the evidence it used. A question can be limited to chosen knowledge sections, and web lookup is switched on on demand.

README in short
The repository holds the application (CLI, web app, knowledge maintenance) and a separate lightweight skill adapter. Knowledge moves between people as `.mywiki` bundles in Open Knowledge Format v0.2. The license is MIT.

Also use for explicitly requested remote/public knowledge access, including “远程知识库”, “远程服务”, “公网知识库”, and “公网服务”. --- # My Wiki This Skill routes Agent work to the My Wiki project or an explicitly requested remote service. It contains a lightweight CLI bridge, not the application or a vault. ## Choose A Route Without a saved remote connection, normal My Wiki, knowledge-base, Dashboard, and graph requests use the local installation. Only explicit remote/public requests or a remote server URL initiate a first remote connection. A saved, enabled remote authorization makes ordinary bridge commands default to that service; use the Remote access reference when `where` reports remote mode. Explicit local intent overrides the saved connection with `--local` or `--vault`. Bare “连接 mywiki” must not initiate a first public connection. | Request | Read | | --- | --- | | Local installation, missing project/vault, selecting a local vault | [Local setup](references/setup.md) | | Local CLI syntax and Dashboard launch commands | [Local commands](references/commands.md) | | Query or answer from knowledge | [Query workflow](references/workflows.md#query) | | Capture a URL, document, folder, or image bundle | [Ingest workflow](references/workflows.md#ingest) | | Create, import, export, delete, or ingest a quick note | [Quick notes](references/quick-notes.md) | | Distill, repair, or inspect knowledge health | [Maintenance workflow](references/workflows.md#maintain) | | Galaxy naming, Concept/Reference structure, and OKF metadata | [Knowledge model](references/knowledge-model.md) | | Evidence gates, OCR quality, formula review, and closure | [Evidence rules](references/evidence-rules.md) | | Import or export a knowledge galaxy | [Sharing workflow](references/workflows.md#share-a-galaxy) | | Open or operate the local Dashboard | [Dashboard workflow](references/workflows.md#dashboard) | | Explicit remote/public connection and operations | [Remote access](references/remote.md) | | Dashboard Agent/provider behavior | [Dashboard Agent reference](references/dashboard-agent.md) | | IMA migration requested | [IMA import](references/ima-local-import.md) | | Firecrawl requested or ordinary webpage capture failed | [Firecrawl](references/firecrawl-mcp.md) | Read only the references relevant to the task.
