Why this level
- Reads agents' local session logs and shows project paths; launching agents and editing stores are excluded.

- Works in
Manual install
cargo install agf --lockedFirst install command from the README. Homebrew works too: `brew install subinium/tap/agf`.
Access and checks
How we reviewExtended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.
- Reads agents' local session logs and shows project paths; launching agents and editing stores are excluded.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
agf, a fast finder for AI agent sessions, reads the logs that 16 agents already keep on disk: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor CLI, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Kiro, Antigravity, Muse Code and others. Fuzzy search finds the session in a terminal UI, and `agf resume project-name` resumes the best match directly. Scripts and agents get commands with versioned JSON: `agf search`, `agf show`, `agf resume-plan` and `agf capabilities`. `agf mcp` starts a stdio MCP server that only reads. A ready skill sits in `skills/agf/SKILL.md`.
Who it is for. People who work with several agents and lose a session after closing a tab or switching projects.
Good fit when
- An agent session closed and its identifier is forgotten.
- Yesterday's work was in Codex, today's in Claude Code, and one shared history is needed.
- An agent looks up where a similar task was solved before and receives session metadata without reading the chat.
- A script expects a resume command in one call.
Not a fit when
- Full transcripts are needed, and the tool does not expose complete conversations.
- An agent keeps its history in the cloud rather than on local disk.
- Sessions must be deleted or edited, while MCP offers reading only.
Example request
Find sessions about the database migration from the last month across Codex and Claude Code and show how to resume the newest.Limitations
A Cargo build needs Rust 1.88 or newer and a C compiler for bundled SQLite; prebuilt binaries are on the releases page. `agf setup` edits the shell profile and is only needed for changing directory in the parent shell. The tool reads agents' local stores, so it sees project names and paths. The MCP server and JSON commands run nothing and change no stores, and `resume-plan` returns data for a manual launch. The agent version must support native resume.
How to disable. Remove the package with `cargo uninstall agf` or `brew uninstall agf` and delete the block added by `agf setup` from the shell profile. Remove the `agf` entry from the client's MCP configuration separately.
FAQ
Which agents does agf read?
Sixteen, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor CLI, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Kiro, Qwen Code, Kimi Code and Antigravity. The README has the full table of log paths.
How do I resume a session without the interface?
Run `agf resume project-name`: the tool picks the closest match and hands the session to the agent's own CLI.
What can the MCP server do?
It only reads: `agf_capabilities`, `agf_search_sessions`, `agf_get_session` and `agf_resume_plan`. A person performs the resume in their own terminal.
Is an account or cloud needed?
No. The tool works locally with the agents' files: no account, no sync and no extra agent process.
Is `agf setup` required?
Only to change directory in the parent shell. The interface, JSON commands and MCP server work without it.

README in short
Install through Cargo, Homebrew or prebuilt binaries. Fuzzy search opens with `agf`, resuming goes through `agf resume`, and agents get JSON commands, MCP and a skill.
