What it does
CharDesk is a shared medium for people and agents: visual Unicode text on an infinite canvas where diagrams, interface sketches and slides can be drawn and then edited as text. It connects three ways: the skill `npx skills add https://github.com/sayhi-bzb/chardesk --skill chardesk`, the MCP server `claude mcp add chardesk -- npx -y @chardesk/mcp` or the CLI `npm install -g @chardesk/cli`. The README is in English and Chinese. Version 0.6.5 from 06.10.2026, MIT license.
Who it is for. For developers who discuss diagrams and sketches with an agent and want to keep them as plain text in the repository.
Good fit when
- You need sketches of diagrams and interfaces that both a person and an agent edit
- You need a diagram format as text for the repository
- You need an MCP server, a skill and a CLI in one tool
Not a fit when
- You need precise vector graphics: the canvas is made of characters
- You need cloud collaboration: the tool is local
Example request
Draw in CharDesk a user registration diagram and a sketch of the sign-in screen, save the canvas into the projectLimitations
Diagrams and interfaces here are made of Unicode characters, so these are sketches and not precise graphics. The MCP server and CLI write canvas files into the project, so access is extended. Version 0.6.x, the format may change.
How to disable. Remove the skill from the agent's folder or the plugin through the plugin manager.
