How we review

Extended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

  • Node.js 22.18 or newer is needed
  • The agent sends content to a local server

What it does

Sideshow is a live visual surface for a terminal agent: the agent shows diagrams, interface sketches, rendered Markdown, highlighted code and data in the browser on a local server. Launch: `npm install`, then `npx sideshow serve --open` (viewer on port 8228), demo: `npx sideshow demo`. Node.js 22.18 or newer is needed. Version 0.14.0 from 07.09.2026, MIT license.

Who it is for. For developers who work with an agent in the terminal and want to see the result as a diagram, mockup or table and not text.

Good fit when

  • A terminal agent should show diagrams and mockups
  • You need a preview of Markdown and code next to the chat
  • You need to discuss interface sketches with an agent

Not a fit when

  • You have no Node.js 22.18 or newer
  • You need cloud viewing for a team: the server is local

Example request

Show through Sideshow a service architecture diagram and a sketch of the sign-in screen

Limitations

The server is local and runs on your machine, Node.js 22.18 or newer is needed. The agent sends content to it for display, so access is extended: do not pass secrets.

How to disable. Remove the skill from the agent's folder or the plugin through the plugin manager.
