What it does
The tool searches CIAN rental and sale listings by price, room count, district and metro without logging in, using public listings only. Saved searches are remembered locally and, on the next run, show new, changed, disappeared and returned listings. There are local favorite lists with apartment comparison, a metro station reachability estimate, and price history that this CLI itself has observed, not CIAN's full history. Every command supports an agent flag with compact JSON output for scripts and agents, and the cian-mcp binary exposes the same functionality as an MCP server over stdio or local HTTP. A separate SKILL.md documents instructions for an agent.

- You need CIAN price history from before the CLI's first run: only what the CLI itself observed is saved
- You need to manage an account or message listing owners: the CLI does not do this and only works with public data
- The site has rate-limited requests or shown a CAPTCHA: bypassing protection is not supported, you should stop and retry later

The project has a single author, is unofficial and not affiliated with CIAN. It needs Go 1.26.6 or newer to build from source; the README does not directly mention ready binary releases. One search fetches a single page of results, up to 28 listings by default. Changing the data directory does not automatically migrate existing searches and favorites.
How to disable. Remove the cian entry from your MCP client config and, if needed, delete the CLI's data directory.

Do I need to log into a CIAN account?
No, the CLI works with public listings without logging in and does not manage an account.
Does a listing disappearing from the results mean it was removed from the site?
No, one search only fetches a single page of results, so disappearing from that page does not prove the listing was removed site-wide.
