What it does
CliDeck, a local workspace for CLI agents, runs Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Pi sessions in one browser window. Sessions group by project, show status (working, idle, needs you) and persist so you can return to a conversation later. Each session stays the agent's real terminal with its own settings and account. Agents open results in a tab beside the terminal with `clideck show`: Markdown, HTML, PDF, images and Mermaid diagrams. `clideck agents` and `clideck ask` let an agent find a teammate in the project and send a request, including to an agent from another provider. A task manager, history search and plugins for Git changes and read-aloud replies complete the set.
Who it is for. People who keep several agents open across projects and get lost between terminal tabs.
Good fit when
- Five agents run across three projects and you need to see who has finished.
- Yesterday's conversation with an agent should reopen and continue from the same place.
- An agent produced a report or demo and the result reads better beside the terminal.
- A code agent asks the sound agent for help and waits for the reply.
Not a fit when
- One agent in one terminal is enough.
- You need phone access to sessions, since mobile control was removed in version 2.
- Node.js is older than 22.12 and cannot be upgraded.
Example request
Open report.md in a CliDeck tab, then find the sound agent in the game project and send it a request to replace the voice lines.Limitations
Node.js 22.12 or newer and installed agent CLIs are required; their accounts and subscriptions are not included. The server listens on the local address only and data lives in `~/.clideck-next`. While you type or paste into a terminal, incoming requests from other agents are refused and become available after four seconds without input; nothing is queued. The speech model downloads on first use. Autopilot and mobile control were removed in version 2. The task manager works on macOS and Linux only.
How to disable. Stop the `clideck` process and remove the package with `npm uninstall -g clideck`. Delete the data in `~/.clideck-next` separately.
FAQ
Which agents are supported?
Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Pi and plain shell sessions.
Which port does the interface use?
`http://127.0.0.1:4000` by default. Change it with `--port` or the `CLIDECK_PORT` and `PORT` variables.
How do agents reach each other?
`clideck agents` lists teammates in the project and `clideck ask` sends a request to a chosen session. In the interface, `@@` finds sessions.
What happens to version 1 data?
Version 2 imports earlier sessions, projects and saved prompts automatically. Read `UPGRADING.md` before updating.
Where is data stored?
In `~/.clideck-next`. Set another path with the `--data-dir` flag.

README in short
One npm command installs it and starts a local server on port 4000. The core is projects, live session status, history, result previews and request passing between agents.
