What it does
deja-vu searches the saved sessions of your agents for what will help the current one: past decisions, commands, agreements. The index is built with no model and no embeddings, and keys and tokens are stripped in the process. A single Go binary, the nightly version, MIT license. Installation: `brew install deja-vu`, `go install github.com/vshulcz/deja-vu/cmd/deja@latest`, to try without installing: `npx @vshulcz/deja-vu "query"`, the skill `npx skills add https://github.com/vshulcz/deja-vu --skill deja-search`.
Who it is for. For people who work with several agents and want a new session to remember what was decided in past ones.
Good fit when
- You need to find a decision from a past agent session
- You need shared memory for several agents with no cloud
- You need history search with no model
Not a fit when
- You cannot let an agent read the whole session history
- You need semantic memory on embeddings
Example request
Find in my past sessions how we solved the database migration problem and retell the commandsLimitations
The program reads all saved histories of your sessions, which may hold work data, so access is extended. Keys and tokens are stripped during indexing but check the result. If installing by script, read it first. The release is nightly only.
How to disable. Remove the program the way you installed it and the index directory.
