Broad access
Why this level
- The panel has a built-in terminal and session control, and a zrok tunnel opens them beyond the local network
- The macOS installers are not notarized, and installation sets up pi and dependencies in the home directory automatically
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add cli/pi-dashboardDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
PI Dashboard shows sessions of the pi coding agent in a browser. The main screen groups them by folder, Git branch and OpenSpec change, with a token counter next to each. You can start several sessions in parallel, watch the agent's reasoning in real time and chat from the panel. The panel mirrors pi's terminal interface and works alongside it. Inside are a built-in terminal, a diff viewer and a launcher for pi-flows. For use from a phone there is a mobile mode: the panel opens over mDNS on the local network or through a zrok tunnel. The interface can be switched to Chinese. There are three ways to install it. A desktop Electron app for macOS, Linux and Windows includes a first-run wizard and sets up everything it needs in ~/.pi-dashboard with no terminal. Developers can use the npm package: after installing, the pi-dashboard command starts a server on port 8000. If pi is already installed, the panel goes in as a pi extension and starts on first launch.
Who it is for. For people who run several pi agent sessions at once and want to see them, token spend and diffs in one window.
Good fit when
- Several pi sessions run in parallel across folders and branches, and terminal tabs get lost
- You want to see current token spend for each session
- You want to watch what the agent writes and reply from a phone
- You work with OpenSpec and want the changes attached to sessions in view
- You need to review the diffs the agent made without leaving the browser
Not a fit when
- You use Claude Code, Codex or Cursor: the dashboard supports pi only
- You need just one terminal and one session: pi's own interface is enough
- Exposing the panel externally is unsafe: remote control through a tunnel gives access to a terminal
Example request
Start pi-dashboard and open http://localhost:8000: I want to see all active pi sessions and token spend for each.Limitations
Installing through npm needs Node.js 22.19 or newer and C++ build tools for the built-in terminal (Xcode CLI Tools on macOS, build-essential on Linux). The macOS builds are not notarized yet: on first launch choose Open from the context menu or clear the quarantine attribute with `xattr -cr`. macOS 13 or newer is required. OAuth sign-in for tunnel access is off by default, and the author asks you to turn it on before exposing the panel. Contributions go only through the spec-first process from CONTRIBUTING.
How to disable. Stop the server and remove the package with npm uninstall -g @blackbelt-technology/pi-agent-dashboard. The pi extension is removed through pi's package manager, the desktop app is uninstalled like any program, and the ~/.pi-dashboard directory can be deleted by hand.
FAQ
Which agents does PI Dashboard work with?
Only with pi from the badlogic/pi-mono repository. Oh My Pi is not supported.
How do I install PI Dashboard with one command?
Run npm install -g @blackbelt-technology/pi-agent-dashboard, then pi-dashboard, and open http://localhost:8000. If pi is already installed, pi install npm:@blackbelt-technology/pi-agent-dashboard is enough.
How do I control sessions from a phone?
The panel has a mobile mode. It is reachable over mDNS on the local network or through a zrok tunnel when the phone is outside that network.
Do I need a terminal to install the desktop app?
No. The standalone mode of the Electron app bundles Node.js and installs pi, the dashboard and openspec into ~/.pi-dashboard itself, while the first-run wizard offers API key or OAuth sign-in and recommended extensions.
Does PI Dashboard work on Windows?
Yes, through the desktop app or npm. Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, and an npm install needs long paths enabled in the registry, or node_modules nesting will exceed 260 characters.
