Extended access
Why this level
- App sources are uploaded to Revyl's cloud runner for the build
- The installer runs a script downloaded over the network
- Builds and cloud-device runs are billed by the platform
Install
- Works in
Manual install
curl -fsSL https://revyl.com/install.sh | shDownloads and runs a script from revyl.com: read it first. On macOS there is brew install RevylAI/tap/revyl, elsewhere pipx install revyl or uv tool install revyl.

What it does
Revyl is an AI-powered testing platform for mobile apps. Scenarios are written in plain language and run on iOS and Android cloud devices. The CLI builds the app on a cloud runner (`revyl build`), starts a live-device development loop (`revyl dev`), runs tests and workflows (`revyl test run`, `revyl workflow run`) and explores the app to build its Atlas map (`revyl explore run`). Expo, React Native, Flutter and native builds are supported. The repository ships skills and plugins for agents. `revyl skill install` installs a recommended set for the project, and skills such as revyl-cli-dev-loop, revyl-ci-sync, revyl-proof-ci and revyl-cloud-agent guide an agent through the cloud-device loop, CI sync and run proof. There is a Claude Code plugin with an MCP configuration and a Cursor plugin; MCP setup is described in Revyl's docs. The project is configured by a `.revyl/config.yaml` file that `revyl init` creates, and tests are stored as YAML files in `.revyl/tests/`. GitHub and GitLab integrations connect with `revyl github setup` and `revyl gitlab setup`.
Who it is for. Mobile developers and testers on Expo, React Native, Flutter and native stacks whose agent writes code and must check it on a real device.
Good fit when
- The agent changed the sign-in screen and it must be checked on a cloud iPhone without a local simulator
- Regression is easier to write in words and run on a schedule or in CI
- You need a map of the app's screens: `revyl explore run` builds an Atlas
- The build is heavy and worth handing to a cloud runner
- A cloud agent needs Revyl access through `REVYL_API_KEY`
Not a fit when
- Everything must stay on your own machines: builds run on Revyl's cloud runner by default and sources are uploaded to it
- You need free unlimited runs: the platform is commercial and billing is described in its docs
- You need to drive a local simulator from an agent: mobile-mcp and ios-simulator-skill in the catalog do that
- The project is not mobile: Revyl tests iOS and Android only
Example request
Launch the app on a cloud iPhone through revyl dev, go through checkout and tell me where the scenario failsLimitations
A Revyl account is required: sign in with `revyl auth login` and a browser approval or with an API key. Builds run on Revyl's cloud runner and are billed under the platform's rules. The `curl | sh` installer downloads and runs a script from revyl.com, so read it first; the PyPI package contains a ready binary. The CLI repository has no license file, so check the terms for its source with the owner. The vendor's description is written as instructions for an agent, and part of the flows assume a cloud environment.
How to disable. Remove the skills through your agent's skill manager or delete their folders from the project, and revoke the API key on the Revyl dashboard. The CLI comes out the way it went in: `brew uninstall revyl`, `pipx uninstall revyl` or `uv tool uninstall revyl`.
FAQ
How do I start with Revyl from an agent?
Install the CLI, sign in with `revyl auth login`, run `revyl init` in the app folder and `revyl skill install`. After that the agent only needs to read the `revyl-cli` skill.
Does Revyl work with Claude Code and Cursor?
Yes. The repository has a Claude Code plugin with a `.mcp.json` file and a Cursor plugin, both described in marketplace files. Skills also install through `npx skills add RevylAI/revyl-cli#stable -y`.
What does revyl dev do?
It starts a development loop on a live cloud device. With `--remote --detach --json` the command returns a `viewer_url` link the agent shows to the user.
Which install methods exist?
The script `curl -fsSL https://revyl.com/install.sh | sh`, a PowerShell script for Windows, `brew install RevylAI/tap/revyl`, `pipx install revyl` and `uv tool install revyl`.
How does a cloud agent get access?
Through the `REVYL_API_KEY` variable. `revyl auth persist-cloud-env` helps an MCP server that does not inherit it.
