Broad access
Why this level
- Runs agents with access to your projects and creates worktrees, commits, branch publishes and pull requests
- Offers remote phone access to sessions, files and git, with a local account created for it
- A lead agent launches workers and sends them prompts on its own
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add cli/tesseraDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
Tessera gathers coding-agent sessions in one window. Each task can get its own session and an isolated git worktree, so agents do not work on the same branch. Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode start in the PTY terminal mode or in a graphical chat. A list, tabs and split panes help you move between them. The task board moves cards through columns from Todo to Done and shows the current agent and diff state. Inside the app you can edit files and view diffs, then commit the change and open a pull request. For Codex there is a tab with generated images and their prompts. The `/tessera-cli` command inside a managed session lets a lead agent launch parallel sessions in new worktrees, read their results and send follow-up prompts. Every worker stays visible in Tessera meanwhile. You can also continue from a phone after pairing the device in remote access settings.
Who it is for. Developers who run several tasks through Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode at once and are tired of a pile of terminals.
Good fit when
- You want three tasks on three separate branches and one window to watch every agent
- You want a lead agent to launch and coordinate workers
- You need a task board tied to real sessions and diffs
- You want to review a diff, commit and open a pull request without leaving the session
- You need to continue work with an agent from a phone without losing the conversation
Not a fit when
- You work with one agent in one terminal and a plain shell is enough
- None of the supported CLIs (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode) is installed and authenticated on the machine
- You need a fully code-signed Windows build: it is unsigned for now and triggers a SmartScreen warning
Example request
Through /tessera-cli create two worktrees and launch parallel sessions in them: one for a schema migration, one for API tests, then wait for the resultsLimitations
Tessera runs locally and uses the provider CLIs already installed and authenticated on the machine, so run, for example, claude login or codex login first. The npm route needs Node.js 20.9 or newer on the 20 line, or Node.js 22–26, plus npm 10 or newer. Windows builds are not code-signed yet. The Debian, Ubuntu and Arch Linux builds are beta, while the macOS build is signed and notarized. First run creates a local account for the browser runtime and checks that a CLI is available. The license is AGPL-3.0.
How to disable. If you installed through npm, run npm uninstall -g @horang-labs/tessera. The desktop app is removed the usual way for your system, and the container is stopped with docker compose down. Data lives in the data and workspaces folders next to the compose file.
FAQ
How do I install Tessera?
There are three ways. The desktop app comes from the releases page (exe for Windows, dmg for macOS, deb and pkg.tar.zst for Linux). For the browser runtime run npm install -g @horang-labs/tessera and start tessera. The third path is docker compose.
Which agents are supported?
Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode, in PTY mode or in the graphical mode. You can add custom model IDs in settings.
How does /tessera-cli work?
You call it inside a managed session. The lead agent gets operations for status, creating worktrees, launching sessions, waiting for and reading results, sending follow-ups and archiving. With them it spreads work across workers.
Can I work from a phone?
Yes. The device is paired in the remote access section of settings. After that, sessions, files and the Git panel open on the phone.
How is Tessera different from Claude Squad?
Claude Squad is a terminal app for several sessions. Tessera has a graphical window with a task board, a built-in path to a pull request, lead agent orchestration and phone access.

README in short
The project's motto is to run more agents and lose less context. The documentation covers the first-run steps and building from source.
