What it does
The server lets an agent run AppleScript and through it control macOS. It can work with Notes, Calendar, Contacts, Messages and other apps, find files via Spotlight or Finder, read and write file contents and run shell commands. The server is deliberately simple and needs minimal setup, and comes in two flavors: Node.js and Python. It supports remote execution over SSH, including from a docker container to the Mac host.

The remote SSH option needs Remote Login enabled and credentials passed in, which should not be kept in plain config.
How to disable. Remove the applescript_execute entry from your MCP client config.

Node.js or Python?
Both are available. Node.js runs via npx, and the Python option runs via uvx straight from the repository.
Can I run AppleScript on the Mac from a container?
Yes, over SSH using the host.docker.internal hostname. You must enable Remote Login on the Mac and pass credentials.
