Broad access
Why this level
- A connected agent can execute Python with process permissions and read or change files.
- A task controls input on Windows or Android and can change target application data.
Install
- Works in
Manual install
.\.venv\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install "ok-script[default]"Installs the package into the Windows project’s `.venv`. Create that virtual environment and prepare the target application configuration first; MCP is included from 2.0.17.

What it does
ok-script MCP provides observation and development tools for automation tasks. The agent captures an application, reads bundled instructions and inspects the installed package’s APIs. It then writes a Python task and tests repeat execution. A saved task runs from the application GUI or command line without another model call. Recognition supports image templates and OCR, with ADB for Android devices. The server runs inside a configured automation project.
Who it is for. For developers and testers building repeatable control of their own Windows applications or Android devices.
Good fit when
- Develop a UI workflow once and run it repeatedly on the local machine.
- Have the agent inspect actual API signatures before writing a task.
- Compare screenshots and templates across display resolutions.
- Test a task while restoring the initial UI state between attempts.
Not a fit when
- You need control of another person’s device without authorization.
- Automatic input is unacceptable in an application with valuable data.
- You need a finished workflow without configuring a target application.

Limitations
Python 3.11 or later is required to execute application tasks with the installed package. The server needs a specific application configuration, so installing the package alone does not provide a finished workflow. Keep project dependency constraints and choose only one compatible OpenCV variant to avoid breaking capture and recognition. Retest the Python task after target UI changes: old coordinates or templates can select a different control and change its data.
How to disable. Stop the MCP process and remove its client connection. Saved Python tasks remain in the project and run independently, so inspect any separate schedules.
FAQ
Where are the connection URL and token?
In the active `logs/mcp/connections/<pid>-<port>.json` record. Use its URL and authorization header without publishing the values.
Is there a separate API-signature lookup tool?
No. MCP provides skills and execution tools; the agent inspects installed package sources for signatures.
Does a finished task need a model for every run?
No. The saved Python task executes locally without an agent or model call.
How do I select bundled development instructions?
Call `list_skills`, then load the relevant skill with `get_skill` before developing the task.
Which license does ok-script use?
Apache 2.0 with Commons Clause and additional terms. Direct sales of the project or a lightly modified copy are restricted, and products using it need an ok-script link; GUI dependencies have their own licenses.

README in short
The package includes visual template debugging and task packaging. Screenshots, logs and run results are retained for seven days by default; copy needed files elsewhere to keep them longer.
