What it does
BrowserWing runs a local service that controls Chrome or Chromium through the DevTools protocol. The agent gets navigation, clicks, text input, form filling and submission, an accessibility snapshot, JavaScript execution, screenshots and batch operations. It can be driven three ways: as an MCP server over HTTP, as skills files, and through a CLI with ready-made scripts for popular sites. The service keeps a separate Chrome profile directory, so it reuses your authenticated sessions and cookies. LLM-powered extraction with OpenAI, Claude and DeepSeek is optional, and a visual recorder lets you record actions and replay them as a script.

Requires an installed Chrome or Chromium. The service opens a local HTTP port, unauthenticated by default, and should not be exposed publicly. The tool acts in your real browser and can visit sites and submit forms as you, so the working scope should be limited and site terms respected. Some scripts require a prior login through the web UI. Optional LLM extraction depends on the provider: the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs are not reachable from Russia without a VPN. On macOS you may need to clear the quarantine flag with xattr.
How to disable. Stop the service and remove it: npm uninstall -g browserwing, or delete the downloaded binary. Remove the MCP configuration from your agent's settings.

No. The tool drives your own Chrome in your own sessions, not spoofing another browser to defeat detection. Respecting site terms is up to you.
Do I have to use MCP?
No. Besides MCP there is a CLI for pipelines and skills files, plus an HTTP API. You can pick whichever fits.
