BSL Platform Context MCP
A local read-only MCP server for the 1C:Enterprise platform reference: exact type, method and constructor cards straight from installed HBK files
Low risk
We rate an entry low when it mostly gives the agent instructions and reference material.
Why this level
- The tools are strictly read-only and work only with platform help
- The server makes no network calls and does not connect to an infobase
Install
Manual install
$env:JAVA_HOME = "path\to\jdk-21"
.\gradlew.bat clean test portableZipBuilds a portable archive with a private jlink runtime and a fat jar.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The server parses the installed 1C platform's syntax help files, shcntx_*.hbk and shlang_*.hbk, once at startup and builds an immutable model of the platform API, exposing it to an agent through six read-only tools: ranked and paginated search, an exact type or enum card, an exact method, property, event or constructor, a filtered and paginated list of a type's members, every documented constructor overload, and platform version info. Unlike intermediate models, it preserves every detail of the help: both language name variants, raw syntax, required, default and variadic parameters, introduction and deprecation versions, notes, examples and related items. Parsing is built on a pinned version of the 1c-syntax/bsl-context parser with no lossy mapping, and the transport uses the official Java MCP SDK.
Who it is for. For 1C developers who need exact platform method and constructor reference right in their agent instead of manually searching the syntax helper.
Good fit when
- You need the exact signature of a method or every overload of a platform type's constructor
- You need to check which platform version introduced a method or when it was deprecated
- You need to search the platform reference without opening the syntax helper
Not a fit when
- You have no local 1C:Enterprise install with Russian help on Windows x64
- You need reference for your own configuration's code, not the platform: that is a different tool
Example request
Show all constructor overloads of ОписаниеТипов and which platform version introduced eachLimitations
Only runs on Windows x64 with a local 1C:Enterprise install containing the Russian shcntx_ru.hbk help. Building requires JDK 21; there is no ready cross-platform binary. The server makes no network calls and does not connect to an infobase; it is purely a platform reference tool.
How to disable. Remove the server entry from the MCP client config.

README in short
The README describes the server as a local read-only STDIO MCP for platform reference, lists six tools with stable error codes NOT_FOUND, AMBIGUOUS, INVALID_ARGUMENT and PLATFORM_HELP_UNAVAILABLE. It gives requirements (Windows x64, JDK 21, Russian help), portableZip build commands producing a deterministic archive, running via run.ps1 with platform-selection options, and a verification section with real-HBK tests against specific platform types. A provenance section names the pinned bsl-context parser and Java MCP SDK versions and stresses that 1C help is never redistributed with the project.
FAQ
Can I pick a specific platform version?
Yes, via the -PlatformPath parameter, the BSL_PLATFORM_PATH environment variable, or BSL_PLATFORM_VERSION to select a version without hardcoding a machine path.
Does parsing lose any help details?
No, the server reads API objects directly from the pinned parser with no lossy intermediate mapping, so both language name variants, examples and related items are preserved.
