What it does

The server opens the public Civitai REST API to an agent through 14 tools. With them you can search checkpoints, LoRAs and ControlNets with filters by base model, type, tag and creator, browse top images with full generation parameters, find a model by file hash, and read a version's trigger words and download links. Text search goes through Meilisearch because Civitai's own search has been broken since mid 2025. It builds ready download commands for curl and PowerShell with ComfyUI path mapping, caches previews, and outputs in English or Russian. It is written in Python with FastMCP and runs over stdio.

Who it is for. For designers and content creators who gather Stable Diffusion, Flux and similar models and prompts through their agent.

Limitations

The server sits on top of Civitai, so it depends on civitai.com being reachable, which is worth checking separately from Russia without a VPN. The CIVITAI_API_KEY is optional, but without it NSFW content is closed and rate limits are lower. Text search runs through Meilisearch because Civitai's REST search is broken. The server does not generate images itself, it only searches models and metadata and prepares download commands.

How to disable. Remove the civitai server from your MCP client config. Uninstall the package with pip uninstall civitai-mcp-ultimate if it was installed, and the preview cache lives in ~/.civitai-mcp-cache/.
