Broad access
Why this level
- Local files go to a third-party Supabase storage whose address is hardcoded in the server, and get a public link
- Kling API keys give access to your account's resources
- Results are downloaded to disk by default
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add mcp/mcp-klingDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
The server works through the Kling API with developer keys. The README lists 13 tools: video from text and from an image, extending a clip, lip sync, video effects, image generation, virtual try-on, task status checks, a task list, the account balance and the list of resource packages. The server builds the JWT tokens for the API itself. Results are downloaded to disk by default.
Who it is for. For developers who already have Kling API keys and need operations beyond the basics: video extension, lip sync, effects and try-on.
Good fit when
- You need video extension, lip sync or virtual try-on from an agent
- You already have Kling API keys and OAuth sign-in does not suit you
- The source images and video are available by http links, not on disk
Not a fit when
- Your sources are on your disk and must not go to a third party
- The four basic operations are enough: then the official remote Kling server without keys is simpler
Example request
Extend this clip by link by five seconds and show the task statusMCP
- Transport
- stdio
- Authentication
- API key
Environment variables
KLING_ACCESS_KEYrequired, secret- Kling API access key from the developer console
KLING_SECRET_KEYrequired, secret- Kling API secret key from the developer console
KLING_DOWNLOAD_PATH- Folder where results are downloaded
KLING_AUTO_DOWNLOAD- Automatic download of results to disk, on by default
Limitations
If you pass a local file or a file:// address to a tool, the server uploads the file to Supabase cloud storage and takes a public link from there for Kling. According to the version 5.2.0 sources (src/file-uploader.ts) the address of that storage is hardcoded in the server, apparently it belongs to the author, and the links are public. The README describes this as an automatic upload to cloud storage and does not say whose it is. Pass http addresses to the tools, not local paths. Kling API keys are needed: KLING_ACCESS_KEY and KLING_SECRET_KEY. The repository has not been updated since June 2025, and package 5.2.0 came out in December 2025. Installation is through npx; the README has no commands for other agents, only Claude Desktop.
How to disable. Remove the mcp-kling entry from the Claude Desktop config and revoke the keys in the Kling developer console. Files the server already uploaded to the third-party storage cannot be deleted on your own: you have no access to it.
FAQ
Where do my files go?
If you pass a local file or file://, the server uploads it to Supabase cloud storage and takes a public link. The storage address is hardcoded in the server, apparently it belongs to the author, and Kling only receives the public link here. To keep files from reaching a third party, pass only http addresses.
Are keys needed?
Yes, KLING_ACCESS_KEY and KLING_SECRET_KEY from the Kling developer console. This server does not support OAuth sign-in.
How is it different from the official Kling server?
The official one connects by address, signs in through OAuth and does four basic operations. This one works with API keys and adds video extension, lip sync, effects and try-on.
Does it download results to disk?
By default yes: KLING_AUTO_DOWNLOAD is on. The optional KLING_DOWNLOAD_PATH variable sets the folder.

README in short
The README describes the server as a set of 13 Kling AI tools: video, images, extension, lip sync, effects, try-on, statuses and balance. Installation is npx -y mcp-kling@latest in the Claude Desktop config with the keys KLING_ACCESS_KEY and KLING_SECRET_KEY. The section on local files speaks of an upload to cloud storage without naming the bucket owner. MIT license.
