What it does
The MCP server connects an agent to the Cloudglue cloud API, which turns video into structured data. A video is given by link: a file in Cloudglue, YouTube, a direct MP4 URL or storage through a connector (Dropbox, Google Drive, Zoom). For a single clip the server describes the content and transcribes speech, extracts entities with a custom prompt, splits the video into chapters or camera shots and shows the file's technical parameters. A description comes in five-minute pages, so the agent reads a long video in pieces. For collections of clips there are three tools. The first prints short summaries of all videos, the second finds videos by meaning, and the third locates specific moments in speech, on-screen text and picture, returning up to 20 results with timestamps. Before paying for a new run, the server checks whether a finished result already exists.

Limitations
A Cloudglue API key from your account is required, with rates on cloudglue.dev/pricing. The key sits in plain text in the client config as the --api-key argument, so keep the config file private.
Video and extracts are processed in the Cloudglue cloud under its terms and privacy policy. For Dropbox, Google Drive and Zoom connectors the source must first be linked in the account. Long results arrive in pages, and the agent assembles a full analysis of a collection from several calls.
How to disable. Remove the cloudglue entry from the MCP client config and restart the client. If you installed the Claude Desktop extension, disable or remove it in the app settings, and revoke the key in your Cloudglue account.
FAQ
How do I connect Cloudglue MCP to Cursor?
Get an API key at cloudglue.dev and add a cloudglue entry to mcp.json with the command npx, the arguments -y, @cloudglue/cloudglue-mcp-server@latest, --api-key and the key. After Cursor restarts, the video tools appear for the agent.
Which video links does the server accept?
A Cloudglue file ID, YouTube links, direct MP4 links and connector paths for Dropbox, Google Drive and Zoom. Only the split into camera shots is unavailable for YouTube.
What about a long video?
A description arrives in five-minute pages, and start_time_seconds sets the starting point. The agent flips pages until total_pages runs out.
Is there an extension for Claude Desktop?
Yes, the cloudglue-mcp-server.mcpb file is on the repository's releases page. Open it with a double click while Claude Desktop is running, press Install and enter the API key.
How many tools does the server have?
Ten: list_collections, list_videos, describe_video, extract_video_entities, get_video_metadata, segment_video_camera_shots, segment_video_chapters, retrieve_summaries, search_video_moments and search_video_summaries. Most sessions start with list_collections.
