How we reviewExtended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

What it does
DayBee MCP opens saved conversation transcripts to an agent. Search returns an excerpt around matching words, then the agent can read the full text with its recording time and source. The desktop app records microphone audio and transcribes speech on the device. The server rescans the directory on every read, so new transcripts appear without restarting the connection. Date and audio-source filters help the agent distinguish similar conversations and identify the recording behind an answer.
Who it is for. Project leads retrieving earlier decisions from meetings recorded in DayBee.
Good fit when
- You remember a task name from a meeting and want the full discussion around it.
- Several recordings accumulated during the day, and the agent selects one by date.
- The app is closed, but a note still needs to be written from a saved transcript.
- You moved the archive and want to locate a conversation in the new directory.
Not a fit when
- You want the agent to start and stop recording during a conversation.
- Tone analysis requires sending the original audio to the agent.
- The archive contains audio that has not yet been transcribed.

Limitations
The server accepts MCP version 2026-07-28; older clients receive a version error. Try reading a sample note before connecting a working archive. App packages support macOS 13.3 or later and Windows. Apple SpeechAnalyzer transcription needs a compatible Mac with macOS 26 or later. Date filters use the computer’s time zone and the recording’s start time, so a conversation near midnight may need the adjacent date.
How to disable. Remove the DayBee connection from the MCP client and stop its process. Saved recordings remain in the app directory.
FAQ
Why is an audio-only recording missing?
Only transcripts enter the list. Transcribe the saved audio in DayBee first.
Can I search while DayBee is closed?
Yes. The client launches a separate archive-reading process without the recorder or app window.
Why read the record after searching?
Search returns an excerpt around the match. Read the full transcript so conditions and later clarifications are included.
Is search semantic or literal?
It matches literal text without case sensitivity. If nothing appears, try an exact phrase or another word from the conversation.
How can I separate microphone and system audio?
Use the source filter. Results identify the recording source.

README in short
The connection exposes three read operations and transcript resources. Each MCP client starts a separate process and communicates over stdio; the server opens no network port.
