Delphi IDE Remote MCP Server

MCP server that turns a RAD Studio machine into a remote backend for agents: read, safe editing, MSBuild builds, git and deploy

MCP server

High risk

We rate an entry high when the tool writes to external systems, handles money, production databases or secrets, or runs arbitrary commands. The CLI installs it only with your consent.

Why this level

  • The server edits files, runs MSBuild, git and deploy to real targets
  • It can drive the desktop and run programs remotely
  • The remote mode exposes the machine over the network behind a token

Install

In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI

npx skillfoxx add mcp/delphi-ide-remote-mcp-server

Detects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.

Other ways to install

This entry is high risk, so there is no one-click install. Review the code and add the config by hand.

Run in a terminal

claude mcp add --transport http delphi http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp --header 'Authorization: Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>'

Or add to the file .mcp.json, in the project

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "delphi": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"
      }
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key.

Keys and settings

AUTHORIZATIONsecret, required

Replace the values in angle brackets with your own. Keys never go into install links and are not stored by us.

Add to the file ~/.cursor/mcp.json, for all projects

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "delphi": {
      "url": "http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"
      }
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key. For a single project, put the same block into .cursor/mcp.json.

Keys and settings

AUTHORIZATIONsecret, required

Replace the values in angle brackets with your own. Keys never go into install links and are not stored by us.

Run in a terminal

code --add-mcp '{"name":"delphi","type":"http","url":"http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"}}'

Or add to the file .vscode/mcp.json, in the project

{
  "servers": {
    "delphi": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"
      }
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the servers key.

Keys and settings

AUTHORIZATIONsecret, required

Replace the values in angle brackets with your own. Keys never go into install links and are not stored by us.

Add to the file ~/.codex/config.toml, for all projects

[mcp_servers.delphi]
url = "http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp"
http_headers = { Authorization = "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>" }

If the file already exists, append the block to the end.

Keys and settings

AUTHORIZATIONsecret, required

Replace the values in angle brackets with your own. Keys never go into install links and are not stored by us.

Add to the file ~/.gemini/settings.json, for all projects

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "delphi": {
      "httpUrl": "http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"
      }
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key.

Keys and settings

AUTHORIZATIONsecret, required

Replace the values in angle brackets with your own. Keys never go into install links and are not stored by us.

Add to the file ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json, for all projects

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "delphi": {
      "serverUrl": "http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"
      }
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key. Legacy Cascade keeps the MCP config in ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

Formerly Windsurf.

Add to the file cline_mcp_settings.json, for all projects

      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <your AUTHORIZATION>"
      }
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key. Open the settings file in Cline: MCP Servers tab, Configure MCP Servers.

Text for your agent

Download the binary from the Releases page and on the RAD Studio Windows machine register it as a stdio server: claude mcp add delphi -- C:/path/to/DelphiLspMcp.exe. For remote access run the HTTP mode and connect: claude mcp add --transport http delphi http://WINDOWS-HOST:3000/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN".

Other ways from the author
claude mcp add delphi -- C:/path/to/DelphiLspMcp.exe

Local stdio mode on the RAD Studio Windows machine. Get the binary from the Releases page.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

The server runs on a Windows machine with RAD Studio installed and gives an MCP client the full Delphi development cycle from any other platform. The agent locates a project, reads and safely edits code, builds via MSBuild, works with git, scaffolds and deploys via PAServer and adb. Semantic navigation runs on the official DelphiLSP, which backs some of the tools; the rest are the editor, build, file operations and deploy chain. It also offers remote run and desktop control for Linux, Android and Windows itself: the server takes a screenshot and clicks by coordinates. Access is scoped by a workspace jail and a token level, including a read-only mode.

Who it is for. For Delphi developers who need to work on RAD Studio projects from any machine through an agent.

Good fit when

  • You want to code in Delphi from Linux, a Mac or a cloud agent while RAD Studio stays on one machine
  • You need a review agent with a read-only token on the live code
  • You need a CI or release run: build, package and publish artifacts over MCP

Not a fit when

  • You have no machine with a licensed RAD Studio
  • You need a stable release: the project is in beta with possible breaking changes between versions

Example request

Open the project on the server, build the release configuration via MSBuild and show the compiler errors

Limitations

The server machine must keep its own licensed RAD Studio at runtime; nothing from Embarcadero is redistributed. The project is beta: the authors warn about rough edges and breaking changes between minor versions. In remote HTTP mode access is protected by a token; control of the operator's own desktop is off by default and enabled by a separate flag. MIT licensed.

How to disable. Remove the delphi server from the MCP client configuration. If it is installed as a Windows service, remove it with DelphiLspMcp.exe -uninstall from an elevated prompt.

MCP

Transport
stdio, http

Environment variables
Environment variables
Authorization
secret
Bearer token for the remote HTTP mode, passed as a header when the client connects.

Security check

  • The server edits files, runs MSBuild, git and deploy to real targets
  • It can drive the desktop and run programs remotely
  • The remote mode exposes the machine over the network behind a token

README in short

The README describes an MCP server that turns a RAD Studio install into a remote backend for agents. The idea is to centralize Delphi on one Windows machine and work from anywhere: understand the code, edit it safely, build, run, package, commit and deploy to a real target. Of 43 tools, 8 rely on the official DelphiLSP; the rest are the editor, MSBuild, git, files, scaffolder, deploy chain and desktop control. It runs as a Windows service, a terminal process or a tray app, over stdio and Streamable HTTP, with access scoped by a workspace jail and a token level.

FAQ

Do I need Delphi on the client?

No. RAD Studio is only required on the server machine; the client connects over MCP and installs nothing.

How do I limit the agent's rights?

There are two token levels: full read-write and read-only. The second can read, search and navigate but changes nothing on the server.
