What it does
MARS-Curiosity is an open library for REST servers and clients in Delphi, and its repository publishes three skills for agents. They live in the Skills folder and at the same time form a plugin with a marketplace for Claude Code, so the agent knows the library's attributes, parameter binding and project layout. The mars-new-project skill creates a new server project from a template and covers deployment: a Windows service, ISAPI, Apache, FastCGI or a Linux daemon. The mars-development skill guides development: JAX-RS style resources as the primary way and routes in code with middlewares as an addition, JWT authentication and roles, datasets through FireDAC and Devart UniDAC, MyDAC and IBDAC, SSE events, WebStencils templates, client components and configuration. The mars-mcp-server skill turns Delphi methods into MCP tools with the `[MCPTool]` attribute, adds database tools through FireDAC and Bearer or OAuth 2.1 protection for Claude, ChatGPT and Open WebUI with Ollama.
Who it is for. For Delphi programmers who write REST APIs and MCP servers on MARS-Curiosity and want Claude Code or another agent to know the library and not invent attributes that do not exist.
Good fit when
- You need to create a new MARS server project from template files and pick a deployment method at once
- In a MARS project you need to add an endpoint, restrict it by roles and wire up token authorization
- You need to serve a FireDAC or UniDAC dataset to a client as JSON and take changes back
- You need to expose Delphi methods as MCP tools for Claude, ChatGPT or a local model
- You need to push events to clients over SSE or serve HTML from WebStencils templates
Not a fit when
- A Delphi project uses a different REST library: the skills cover only MARS-Curiosity
- You need general Delphi help without MARS: the skills trigger in projects with MARS units
- Development is not in Delphi: the library and skills are tied to the language
- You expect the agent to turn resources into routes or the other way round by itself: without your request the skill does not do it
Example request
Create a customers resource with GET and POST methods, protect it with the manager role and return the customer list from FireDAC as JSON.Limitations
The skills cover only MARS-Curiosity and do not replace Delphi documentation. The library targets Delphi 10.4 to 13 and the Windows and Linux platforms. Datasets need the FireDAC components or Devart UniDAC, MyDAC or IBDAC installed.
The plugin in Claude Code updates when new versions are published, while a manual copy of the folders goes stale. The Anthropic API is unavailable from Russia, so for other agents use the npx skills install. The copy examples in the documentation use the Windows xcopy command.
How to disable. In Claude Code remove the mars-curiosity plugin through the /plugin menu. If you copied the skill folders by hand, delete mars-development, mars-new-project and mars-mcp-server from the project's .claude/skills or from ~/.claude/skills.
FAQ
How do I install the MARS skills in Claude Code?
Run /plugin marketplace add andrea-magni/MARS, then /plugin install mars-curiosity@mars. The skills are also available as /mars-curiosity:mars-development, /mars-curiosity:mars-new-project and /mars-curiosity:mars-mcp-server, and they update when new versions are published.
Can I install the MARS skills in Cursor or Codex?
Yes, through the skills utility: npx skills add andrea-magni/MARS. It asks which skills to install and for which tools, and the --all flag installs everything. Later npx skills update refreshes them.
When does the mars-development skill trigger?
In a Delphi project with MARS.*, Server.Ignition, Server.Resources.* or Server.Routes* units. It is used when you ask to add or change an endpoint, protect it with a token and roles, serve a dataset, push events or configure the server, even if the library is not named.
Should I choose resources or routes?
Resources with JAX-RS style attributes remain the primary model, and the skill writes them by default. Routes in code, added in version 1.9.0, are used on request or when the project already has them. Both styles live in one application, and the skill never rewrites one into the other by itself.
Can I build an MCP server for Claude in Delphi?
Yes, with the mars-mcp-server skill. Delphi methods become tools through the `[MCPTool]` attribute, database tools are built on FireDAC, and access is protected with a Bearer token or OAuth 2.1. The server targets Claude, ChatGPT and Open WebUI with Ollama.

README in short
MARS-Curiosity supports routing, JSON, JWT, OpenAPI 3 with Swagger UI and the MARSgen generator for code from OpenAPI descriptions. The three skills sit as a separate set in the Skills folder with three install routes.
