What it does

The server gives an agent a set of tools, each of which builds one visualization type from data: line, column and pie charts, histograms, boxplots, scatter plots, funnels, waterfalls, radars, network graphs, treemaps, Sankey and Venn diagrams, mind maps, flowcharts, fishbone diagrams, organization charts, word clouds, tables and pivot tables. There are geographic district, pin and path maps that rely on the AMap service and cover China. Rendering runs through AntV's hosted service by default, but you can point it at your own via the VIS_REQUEST_SERVER variable for private deployment. The server runs through npx over stdio, also works over SSE and streamable HTTP and can be deployed in Docker. Individual tools can be turned off with the DISABLED_TOOLS variable.

Limitations

By default chart specifications are sent to AntV's hosted rendering service; for a closed environment you need to run your own renderer and set VIS_REQUEST_SERVER. Geographic maps use the AMap service and cover China only. Rendering is done by an external service, so availability depends on the network.

How to disable. Remove the mcp-server-chart block from your client's MCP configuration. For a global install remove the package: npm uninstall -g @antv/mcp-server-chart.
