Install

In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI

npx skillfoxx add mcp/plasma-mcp-server

Detects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.

Other ways to install

Run in a terminal

claude mcp add --transport stdio plasma-mcp-server -- npx -y @salutejs/sdds-mcp@latest

Or add to the file .mcp.json, in the project

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "plasma-mcp-server": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "@salutejs/sdds-mcp@latest"
      ]
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key.

Install in Cursor

The button opens the agent and offers to add the server. If nothing happens, copy the config below.

Add to the file ~/.cursor/mcp.json, for all projects

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "plasma-mcp-server": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "@salutejs/sdds-mcp@latest"
      ]
    }
  }
}

If the file already exists, add the server inside the mcpServers key. For a single project, put the same block into .cursor/mcp.json.

Install in VS Code

The button opens the agent and offers to add the server. If nothing happens, copy the config below.

Run in a terminal

[mcp_servers.plasma-mcp-server]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "@salutejs/sdds-mcp@latest"]

You will need: Node.js

Checked against the repository on Sep 25, 2026, commit 8eb74e7.

Text for your agent

Connect the server with npx -y @salutejs/sdds-mcp@latest, and pass different --lib and --version flags if you need another library or version.

Other ways from the author
npx -y @salutejs/sdds-mcp@latest

Basic run, defaults to the plasma-web library and the latest version.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

The server hands an agent the Plasma design system docs through a set of tools: component listing, icon search, install and Next.js setup guides, function and token reference, and ready component usage examples with their props. It pulls data from a manifest at plasma.sberdevices.ru/mcp/<lib>/<version>/manifest.json, defaulting to the plasma-web library and the latest version, falling back to latest if the requested version is not found. Responses are validated against a zod schema.

Who it is for. For frontend developers building interfaces on SaluteDevices' Plasma design system.

Good fit when

  • You need to quickly find a Plasma component and its props
  • You need an SDDS Icons icon by name or meaning
  • You need a guide for installing Plasma into a Next.js project

Not a fit when

  • You do not use the Plasma design system or SaluteDevices libraries
  • You need access to a live project or component repository, not just the docs

Example request

Show me how to install Plasma in a Next.js project, and find a shopping cart icon

Limitations

The server only serves documentation and reference data; the component code and styles themselves still need to be installed separately via Plasma's npm packages. The README is brief, with no detailed description of the manifest structure or each tool's parameters.

How to disable. Remove the server from your MCP client config.

MCP

Transport
stdio
Authentication
not required

Security check

  • Only reads documentation and reference data, changes nothing in the project

README in short

The short English README lists the server's eleven tools, from component listing to a form guide, describes the manifest URL format for plasma-web and separately for SDDS Icons, the default library and version values, and the npx install command.

FAQ

Can I pin a specific Plasma version?

Yes, with the --version flag; if that version is missing from the manifest, the server falls back to the latest one.

Is this an official SaluteDevices server?

Yes, the repository belongs to the salute-developers organization, which builds Plasma.
