What it does
Remotion Bits collects ready animation components for Remotion video: text effects, gradient transitions, particles, 3D scenes and motion and colour utilities. For agents there is a CLI with `remotion-bits find` and `remotion-bits fetch`, and an MCP server, `remotion-bits mcp`, with the tools `find_remotion_bits` and `fetch_remotion_bit`. The agent searches for a fitting bit by description ("3d cards"), gets its code as JSON and drops it into the project. The same bits install with `npm install remotion-bits` or through `jsrepo`. The repository also holds a `skills/remotion-bits` directory.
Who it is for. Remotion video developers who ask an agent to add animation and do not want to write effects from scratch.
Good fit when
- A clip needs a text reveal effect and the agent picks a ready one.
- A 3D card or particle system is added without building a scene.
- You want to pull single elements into the project rather than the whole package.
- Utilities for smooth motion and colour handling are needed.
Not a fit when
- The video is not built on Remotion.
- A finished clip is needed rather than components to assemble.
- Support from the Remotion team is expected: the project is not affiliated with it.

Limitations
The project is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Remotion team. It needs a Remotion project and Node.js. The repository states no license, so usage terms should be confirmed with the author. The MCP tools only search and return bit source code; checking compatibility with your Remotion version is up to you. Running through `npx` hits the npm registry each time. The set of bits changes between releases, so pin a version for reproducible projects.
How to disable. Remove the `remotion-bits` entry from the MCP config and run `npm uninstall remotion-bits`. Delete bits already added to the project by hand.
