What it does

OpenMontage is a project you open in a coding agent and describe the video you want in plain words. The agent researches the topic online, writes and voices a script, generates images or finds free stock footage, adds music and word-level subtitles, and renders with Remotion and FFmpeg. Pipelines cover animated explainers, motion graphics, avatar videos and documentary montages. Before showing results it self-checks frames, audio levels and subtitles, and every creative decision goes through the user. It includes over a hundred skills for generation providers and animation tools.

Who it is for. For content creators, marketers and teachers who want to make videos with a coding agent.

Limitations

Requires Python 3.10+, Node.js 18+ and FFmpeg. The free path relies on stock footage and local Piper TTS, while quality video, voice and music generation need paid keys for fal.ai, ElevenLabs, Kling, OpenAI and others. AGPL-3.0 licensed.

How to disable. Delete the OpenMontage project folder along with its virtual environment and keys in .env.

• Runs Python and Node.js code, FFmpeg and Remotion renders
• Sends prompts and text to paid generation providers using your keys
