SceneView MCP
The official MCP server of the SceneView SDK: API reference, samples and code validation for 3D and AR on Android, iOS and the web

Extended access
Why this level
- The analyze_project tool reads local project files to find the SceneView version and outdated dependencies
- Reaches the network: the GitHub API for known issues, Sketchfab and Tripo AI with your keys, and it sends anonymous telemetry
- Creating a model through Tripo AI spends your quota or balance at a third-party service
Install
- Works in
Manual install
claude mcp add sceneview -- npx -y sceneview-mcpNode.js 18 or newer is required. The server runs from the npm cache with no separate install.

What it does
SceneView MCP is a documentation and validation server for the SceneView SDK: 3D and AR on Android (Jetpack Compose and Filament), Apple (SwiftUI and RealityKit) and the web. It starts with `npx -y sceneview-mcp` over stdio and gives an agent 32 tools. The agent takes real signatures and defaults from them. The main work is covered by reference, sample and validation tools. `get_node_reference` describes any of 48-plus node types, `list_samples` and `get_sample` return complete compilable samples from 38 scenarios in Kotlin and Swift, and `get_setup`, `get_ios_setup`, `get_web_setup` and `get_ar_setup` give Gradle, manifest, SPM and permission setup. `validate_code` checks generated Kotlin or Swift against 30-plus rules and the real public API and suggests fixes. `migrate_code` and `get_migration_guide` move code from versions 2.x and 3.x. The rest covers project analysis and models. `analyze_project` scans a local project and finds the version, outdated dependencies and known anti-patterns. `search_models` looks for free models on Sketchfab, `generate_3d_model` creates a GLB through Tripo AI, and `view_3d_model` shows a model in an inline viewer.
Who it is for. For mobile developers who write 3D and AR on SceneView with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot or Gemini CLI and want code that builds the first time.
Good fit when
- You are adding model viewing or AR placement to an app and the agent mixes up SceneView node names and parameters
- You need to set SceneView up in a new project: Gradle dependencies and manifest for Android, or SPM and Info.plist for iOS
- Code written for SceneView 2.x or 3.x has to move to the current version, and you want the changes with before and after samples
- Kotlin or Swift generated by the agent has to be checked for nonexistent symbols before a build with `validate_code`
- A scene model comes from Sketchfab or is created from text, and you want to look at it right away in `view_3d_model`
Not a fit when
- You work with another 3D engine such as Three.js or Unity: the server knows only SceneView and its platforms
- You need code for Flutter or React Native: `get_platform_setup` describes their setup, but the server's samples and code validation are written for Kotlin and Swift
- You need to create and edit scenes in Blender: there is a separate `mcp-for-blender` for that, while SceneView MCP gives reference answers and samples
- The project is isolated from the network and telemetry is unacceptable: without `SCENEVIEW_TELEMETRY=0` the server sends anonymous events
Example request
Add a GLB model viewer with finger rotation to the Compose screen, find the right nodes through SceneView MCP and check the code with validate_codeMCP
- Transport
- stdio, http
- Authentication
- not required
Environment variables
SKETCHFAB_API_KEYsecret- Sketchfab key for the search_models tool
TRIPO_API_KEYsecret- Tripo AI key for the generate_3d_model tool
SCENEVIEW_TELEMETRY- A value of 0 turns off anonymous telemetry
Limitations
The author ships generated code as is and asks you to review it before release. Anonymous telemetry is on by default: the server sends the MCP client name and version and the names of called tools, with no request contents. It is turned off with `SCENEVIEW_TELEMETRY=0`.
All tools work offline except known issues from the GitHub API, Sketchfab search and Tripo AI generation. The last two need your own `SKETCHFAB_API_KEY` and `TRIPO_API_KEY`. The hosted server at `https://mcp.sceneview.dev/mcp` lacks the three generation tools and `analyze_project`, because a shared anonymous address stores no one's keys and cannot see your files. `search_android_docs` and `fetch_android_doc` need the `android` command on `PATH`.
The server is distributed under the MIT license and the SceneView SDK itself under Apache-2.0. Node.js 18 or newer is required.
How to disable. In Claude Code remove the server with `claude mcp remove sceneview`. In other clients delete the `sceneview` block from the MCP settings file, for example `.cursor/mcp.json`, `.vscode/mcp.json` or `~/.codex/config.toml`. No install remains: `npx` runs the package from the npm cache.
FAQ
How do I connect an MCP server for Android 3D and AR to Claude Code?
Run `claude mcp add sceneview -- npx -y sceneview-mcp`. For a whole project put a `.mcp.json` file in the root with an `mcpServers` block and the same `npx -y sceneview-mcp` command, and the whole team gets the server.
Can I use SceneView MCP without installing it?
Yes, the hosted version is available at `https://mcp.sceneview.dev/mcp` as a remote connector, for example in claude.ai under Settings, Connectors. It needs no sign-in or keys, but it lacks `analyze_project` and the three generation tools: they need your keys and local files.
What does validate_code check?
The tool compares generated Kotlin or Swift with 30-plus rules and with the real public SceneView API. It finds nonexistent symbols and suggests similar names, so errors show up before a build.
How do I connect SceneView MCP to Cursor or GitHub Copilot?
In Cursor add an `mcpServers` block with the `npx` command and the arguments `-y`, `sceneview-mcp` to `.cursor/mcp.json`. For Copilot in VS Code the same block goes into `.vscode/mcp.json` under the `servers` key, and in Copilot CLI `copilot mcp add sceneview -- npx -y sceneview-mcp` is enough.
Which platforms does SceneView MCP cover?
Android on Jetpack Compose and Filament, iOS, macOS and visionOS on SwiftUI and RealityKit, the web on Filament.js, and also Flutter, React Native, desktop and TV in the shared `get_platform_setup` guide.
How do I turn off SceneView MCP telemetry?
Set the environment variable `SCENEVIEW_TELEMETRY=0` in the server settings. Without it the server sends the MCP client name and version, the server version and the tool name on connect and on every tool call.

README in short
The server description in the `mcp` folder moves from a quick start for about ten clients to the hosted version and the `--http` mode, then covers every tool by group with tables and sample prompts. Next come resources, offline behaviour, anonymous telemetry and the source layout. Beside it sit privacy and terms files, an MCPB package manifest, an MCP registry descriptor and tests. The repository also holds separate vertical builds for automotive, gaming, healthcare and interior design.
