What it does
The project shows how to connect an agent to a YDB database through MCP. Docker Compose brings up three services: a local YDB server, the ydb-mcp server built from the official pip package, and a simple Python CLI notes app as a sample database. A ready .cursor/mcp.json file launches ydb-mcp via docker compose run and lets Cursor run SQL queries, inspect and change YDB's schema and data right from the chat. The notes app itself is only there for illustration: creating, listing, viewing and deleting notes through YDB.

This is a demonstration project wrapping the official ydb-mcp package, not a separate product: the actual MCP server is the ydb-mcp pip package, and the repository just wires it into docker-compose with a toy notes app. Requires Docker and Docker Compose. There have been no pushes or updates for over a year. The README is in English.
How to disable. Stop the containers with docker-compose down and remove the ydb block from .cursor/mcp.json.
