What it does
The server talks to the SMS.RU API using an API ID and gives an agent five tools: sending an SMS to a number with text and an optional sender name, checking delivery status by message ID, account balance, calculating SMS cost before sending, and listing approved sender names. Claude Code gets two skills with ready triggers for sending and checking balance.
Who it is for. For people sending notifications or codes to customers via SMS.RU who want to do it through an agent without writing code.
Good fit when
- You need to send an SMS to a customer right from a chat with an agent
- You need to check whether a message was delivered and how much balance remains
- You want to know a mailing's cost in advance before sending
Not a fit when
- You do not have an SMS.RU account or an approved sender name for your messages
- You need a bulk send to many recipients in one call: send_sms is built for one number per call

Can I find the cost before sending an SMS?
Yes, the get_cost tool calculates the cost from the number and text in advance without sending the message.
Do I need an approved sender name?
The get_senders tool shows already-approved names; the README does not detail the process of getting one approved.
