What it does
Claudia installs with `npx get-claudia` into an open folder and turns the agent into a chief-of-staff style assistant. It remembers people and projects, catches promises like "I'll send that by Friday", assembles a morning summary with `/morning-brief` and learns preferences from sessions (`/meditate`). Memory stays local: a Python MCP server with SQLite and vectors (about 33 tools), embeddings through Ollama and a projection into an Obsidian vault. The package includes 45 skills and a background daemon that merges duplicates and finds patterns overnight.
Who it is for. Managers and founders with many contacts and commitments who need people-memory that survives between agent sessions.
Good fit when
- A promise made in a meeting needs to be caught and recalled on Friday morning.
- Before a call you want a person profile: past talks, agreements and cooling relationships.
- Meeting notes are turned into an action list.
- A draft is run against a named rubric with `/auto-research`.
Not a fit when
- You need a commercial product: the PolyForm Noncommercial license does not allow commercial use.
- Python 3.10 and Ollama for embeddings cannot be installed.
- You only need a one-off note without lasting memory of people.

Node.js 18, Python 3.10 for memory and Ollama with the `all-minilm:l6-v2` model for embeddings are needed. The PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 license is source-available, not open for commercial use. The background daemon runs around the clock through a LaunchAgent and writes data to `~/.claudia/memory/` and the Obsidian vault. A memory-free variant is available with `--no-memory`, leaving only skills and markdown files. Some automation needs hooks to be approved with `/hooks`.
How to disable. Delete the Claudia folder and the plugin from the agent, stop the `com.claudia.memory` LaunchAgent and remove data in `~/.claudia/` if no longer needed.
FAQ
How do I install it?
Open a folder in Claude Code or Codex and run `npx get-claudia`. Start a new chat in that same folder.
Is Ollama required?
Yes, for embeddings: after installing run `ollama pull all-minilm:l6-v2`. For a memory-free install use `npx get-claudia my-project --no-memory`.
How do I connect Gmail and Calendar?
Run `npx get-claudia google`: it walks through enabling APIs and OAuth, with Core, Extended and Complete tiers.
Where is memory stored?
In SQLite under `~/.claudia/memory/` and an Obsidian vault projection under `~/.claudia/vault/`.
What is the license?
PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0: the code is readable and free for noncommercial use, while commercial use is not permitted.
