Access and checks
How we reviewExtended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

What it does
The starter kit combines an Obsidian vault with a `.claude` folder of configured skills. `query` searches projects, clients and tasks, `tasknotes` creates and manages tasks, `review` runs morning, evening and weekly reviews, `client` prepares follow-ups and email drafts, and `granola` pulls in meeting notes. The vault is opened in Obsidian and `claude` is started in its folder. The `/setup-memory` command asks about the user's work and assembles a `CLAUDE.md` file with long-term context. The kit includes note templates, Bases views for agenda and calendar, and the bundled TaskNotes plugin.
Who it is for. Consultants, freelancers and founders who keep clients and tasks in Obsidian and want to connect Claude Code without setting everything up from scratch.
Good fit when
- The day starts with a review: what is on fire across clients and which tasks are due today.
- After a client call you need to see who has not been sent a follow-up and prepare an email draft.
- Meeting notes sit in Granola and have to be linked to projects in the vault.
- The agent has no memory of your work, and `/setup-memory` builds it from a few questions.
Not a fit when
- Notes already live in another system and Obsidian is not used: the vault would have to be learned from scratch.
- A general-purpose skill set for varied projects is wanted: everything here is shaped around clients and tasks.
- A pluggable MCP server or Claude Code plugin is wanted: the kit is notes and skills in a folder.
Example request
/setup-memoryLimitations
The kit is opened whole as an Obsidian vault, and the skills are not installed separately into another project. Obsidian and Claude Code are required, and the vault's plugins must be marked as trusted on first open. The `granola` skill is meant for Granola users. The repository states no license, so reuse terms are worth confirming with the author. A detailed guide with screenshots is in a PDF, and the README holds few commands.
How to disable. Delete the cloned vault folder. To remove only the skills, delete the folders inside `.claude/skills`.
FAQ
How do I get started with the kit?
Clone the repository, open the folder as an Obsidian vault and trust the plugins. Then run `claude` in it and the `/setup-memory` command.
What does `/setup-memory` do?
It asks about your work and builds a `CLAUDE.md` file that Claude Code reads at the start of every session.
Which skills come with the kit?
`query`, `tasknotes`, `review`, `client` and `granola`. They sit in `.claude/skills`.
Is paid Obsidian required?
No, the README says nothing about payment, and Obsidian itself is free for personal use. The TaskNotes plugin ships with the vault.
Can the skills be used outside this vault?
The skill folders can be copied into any project, but they rely on the kit's note structure and will not work everywhere without edits.
