What it does

dsh-TUI is a plugin that layers a terminal interface over the DeepSeek Harness agent without changing its core. It adds a pixel header, a live work-status line with TPS, cache hits, reasoning level and token counts, a streaming view of the model's thinking, and state rollback on double-Esc. It offers session history via /resume and /agentview, /new, /compact and /export modes, hot model switching, session forking and vim-style input editing. When the terminal supports Kitty graphics or Sixel, images from the conversation render inline in the transcript, otherwise a text fallback remains. The plugin adds no separate sandbox of its own: file, shell, sandbox and approval permissions come from the current DSH profile. It installs through npm and mounts as a plugin, leaving no core patches after removal.

Limitations

The plugin works only with DeepSeek Harness and needs Node.js 22.19 or newer and a DEEPSEEK_API_KEY. It has no sandbox of its own: file, shell and approval limits come from the DSH profile. On Windows the default profile uses danger-full-access with an approval policy of never, which grants tools unrestricted access, so in a sensitive environment the profile should be reviewed and tightened before launch. Some graphics features depend on Kitty graphics or Sixel support in the terminal.

How to disable. Remove the plugin with dsh plugin --profile dsh-tui remove @deepseek-harness-tui/dsh-tui, or uninstall the package: npm uninstall -g @deepseek-harness-tui/dsh-tui. The DSH core stays unchanged.
