Access and checks

How we review

Extended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

  • Model Gateway routes Claude Code requests to other providers through a local gateway
  • Observability writes session and tool-call metadata to disk
  • Quartermaster installs approved plugins and inspects every plugin on the machine

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

Eigenwise Toolshed is a marketplace of six Claude Code plugins, each solving its own job and installable independently of the rest. Codebase Mapper builds a small project map, loads it at session start and refreshes only the parts touched by changes. Live Rules injects matching project rules only at the moment they apply. Sidequest keeps tasks on a local board, assigns ownership and queues independent work with verification before integration. Model Gateway adds ChatGPT/Codex and Grok models to the /model picker through a local gateway. Observability records session and tool-call metadata locally and is enabled per project. Quartermaster is a setup guide. It checks which plugins are already on the machine, third-party ones included, and proposes a plan. It then installs the items the user approves and keeps Toolshed installs from falling behind.

Who it is for. For Claude Code users who want to fix specific agent annoyances with separate plugins and install nothing extra.

Good fit when

  • A new session re-explores the same repository every time, and you want a project map that refreshes only the parts changes touched
  • A ticketed task gets lost after context compaction or a session switch, and you want a local board that keeps its status and discussion
  • You want to pick ChatGPT/Codex or Grok models right from Claude Code's /model picker
  • You want to see how much time and tokens a session and its tools are spending, without hand-assembling logs
  • You're not sure which marketplace plugin fits a project and want a guide that proposes a plan and installs only what you approve

Not a fit when

  • You want team telemetry on by default: Observability collects nothing until a project explicitly enables it
  • Tasks need a shared, real-time team tracker: Sidequest's board is local, for one machine
  • You want Quartermaster to update plugins from outside Toolshed: its updater covers only its own installs

Example request

Install Quartermaster from Eigenwise Toolshed and recommend which of the six plugins fit this project

Limitations

  • Model Gateway needs the user's own subscription to a supported provider (ChatGPT/Codex or Grok) plus a separate local gateway process setup. The plugin does not supply the subscription.
  • /quartermaster:update-toolshed only updates Toolshed plugins at their recorded install scope (user, project, local) and leaves third-party marketplaces alone.
  • Installing or updating a plugin needs /reload-plugins or a new Claude Code session. Process-level model gateway changes sometimes need a full restart instead.

How to disable. Remove a plugin with `/plugin uninstall <name>@eigenwise-toolshed`, or drop the whole marketplace with `/plugin marketplace remove eigenwise-toolshed`. Reload plugins or start a new Claude Code session afterward.

FAQ

Do I need to install all six Toolshed plugins at once?

No. You can install one plugin, a few or all six. Quartermaster is the easiest start: it looks at the project and suggests what fits.

How does Sidequest keep tasks through context compaction?

Each ticket lives on a local board with its instructions, status and recorded discussion. After context compaction or in a new session Claude reads the board and resumes the task from the decisions and progress written into the ticket.

Does Model Gateway give free access to ChatGPT or Grok?

No. The plugin works only with a subscription you already have and needs a separate gateway process setup.

What does Live Rules do?

It keeps conditional project rules out of context and injects each one when the task matches its condition. The session context does not fill up with instructions that are not needed right now.

How does Quartermaster decide which plugins to install?

/quartermaster:setup shows a plan item by item and installs only the plugins you approved.
