Why this level

  • After authorization the agent acts in Lark or Feishu as you: it writes messages and edits documents, tables, calendar and tasks
  • The authors explicitly warn about model hallucinations and prompt injection that can lead to data leaks and unauthorized actions
  • In group chats the account owner's permissions and data can become reachable to other participants

Install

Works in

Manual install

Text for your agent

Check `openclaw -v` (version 2026.2.26 or later is needed) and Node.js 22. Connect the `@larksuite/openclaw-lark` plugin following the official Feishu guide, and run `/feishu_doctor` if something fails. Use the bot as a personal assistant, do not add it to group chats and do not relax the default security settings. Confirm actions with sensitive data with the user.

What it does

The plugin connects an OpenClaw agent to a Lark or Feishu workspace as a conversation channel. It is written and maintained by the Lark and Feishu Open Platform team and ships as the npm package `@larksuite/openclaw-lark`. After authorization the agent reads and writes in the messenger: personal and group chat history, thread replies, message search, sending and replying, downloading images and files. Beyond chat it creates, updates and reads documents, manages Base tables with fields, records and views, edits spreadsheets, handles calendars and events, and manages tasks, task lists, subtasks and comments. The plugin shows the agent's work as cards: statuses for thinking, generating and done, confirmation buttons for sensitive actions and streamed text right in the message. Access is set with policies for direct and group chats, and groups can get allowlists, skill bindings and custom system prompts. The package includes nine skills: feishu-bitable, feishu-calendar, feishu-channel-rules, feishu-create-doc, feishu-fetch-doc, feishu-im-read, feishu-task, feishu-update-doc and feishu-troubleshoot. The last one holds an FAQ and the `/feishu_doctor` command, which checks account settings, API connectivity, app permissions and the user's authorization state.

Who it is for. Teams on Lark or Feishu that run OpenClaw and want to handle company chats, documents, tables and calendar through a bot.

Good fit when

  • OpenClaw already runs and the team lives in Feishu: the plugin turns the bot into a personal assistant in the messenger
  • Decisions get made in chat threads and have to land in a document: the agent reads threads and creates or updates a document
  • Planning happens in Base tables: the agent finds records, filters them and edits in batches
  • A calendar event has to be agreed with colleagues: the agent checks availability and manages attendees
  • The plugin connection broke: `/feishu_doctor` checks app permissions and connectivity and returns a report

Not a fit when

  • The agent does not run in OpenClaw: the plugin is made for it specifically, other clients have an MCP server and a CLI
  • The bot is meant to sit in shared group chats: the authors recommend keeping it as a private assistant and not adding it to groups
  • The OpenClaw version is older than 2026.2.26: failures are possible
  • The environment has no Node.js 22: the plugin requires that version or newer

Example request

Read this week's thread in the project chat, draft a decisions document from it and create tasks for the people named as owners

Limitations

  • Node.js 22 or newer and OpenClaw 2026.2.26 or later are required; check the version with `openclaw -v`.
  • The README has no install command: the setup steps live in a separate guide on the Lark and Feishu site.
  • The authors warn about model hallucinations and prompt injection. Once permissions are granted the agent acts as you, so they advise against relaxing the default security settings.
  • Using the plugin falls under the Feishu or Lark terms of service and privacy policy.

How to disable. Disable the plugin in the OpenClaw settings and revoke the app's permissions in the Feishu or Lark Open Platform console. The package `@larksuite/openclaw-lark` can be removed with npm.

FAQ

How do I connect Feishu to OpenClaw?

Install the `@larksuite/openclaw-lark` plugin, making sure OpenClaw is 2026.2.26 or newer and Node.js 22 is in place. The README has no install commands and points to the official guide on the Feishu site.

What can the agent do after the plugin is connected?

Read and write messages, work with documents, Base tables and spreadsheets, manage the calendar and tasks. Messages come with search and file download, tasks with subtasks and comments.

How is the plugin different from feishu-mcp and lark-cli?

The plugin is built into OpenClaw and adds status cards, streamed output and access policies for chats. An MCP server and a CLI connect to other agents and show no status cards.

Can the bot be added to a group chat?

Technically yes, the plugin has group settings with allowlists and system prompts. The authors recommend keeping the bot as a private assistant and not adding it to groups: otherwise permissions and data can become reachable to other people.

Which versions does the Feishu plugin for OpenClaw need?

Node.js 22 or newer and OpenClaw 2026.2.26 or later. `openclaw -v` shows the OpenClaw version, and `npm install -g openclaw` upgrades it.
