Why this level
- Skills change a live store through the Admin API: prices, discounts, pages, theme files, refunds and orders

What it does
A community collection, not an official Shopify product: 116 skills in 11 categories and about twenty routines for scheduled runs. Categories cover store readiness for AI agents, marketing, merchandising (25 skills), customer support, customer ops, conversion, fulfillment, finance, order intelligence, returns and store management. Each skill describes one scenario against the GraphQL Admin API: the agent queries store data, previews changes with `dry_run: true`, executes them after confirmation and reports exactly what happened. Routines combine skills into schedules: a morning briefing, stock watch, abandoned carts, fraud and shipping-deadline monitoring, payout reconciliation, a monthly close and a quarterly review. They run on cron in Claude Code infrastructure and report to Slack or a file. The smart installer asks three questions about the store and installs only the routines that fit; the guide is in `routines/INSTALL.md`.
Who it is for. Owners and operators of Shopify stores who want to hand reports, reconciliations and catalog edits to an agent while keeping approval of changes for themselves.
Good fit when
- You want a morning briefing on orders, revenue and fulfillment without opening the admin by hand
- Stock and demand have to be tracked so that items about to run out are noticed in time
- Suspicious orders and returns should be checked every couple of hours with a Slack alert
- Product pages have to be tuned for AI shoppers: JSON-LD data, GTIN, alt texts, metafields
Not a fit when
- You need an official Shopify plugin: this set is maintained by the community, not the company
- The store cannot be given write access: many skills change prices, discounts, pages and theme files
- The store is not on Shopify: the skills are tied to its Admin GraphQL API
- You want full autonomy without confirmations: skills preview results first by default
Example request
Show yesterday's briefing for my store: orders, revenue, unfulfilled orders, and say what to check firstLimitations
- The set is unofficial and community-maintained. It needs a Shopify CLI login with `shopify auth login --store <domain>` and the API scopes listed in each skill, for example `read_themes` and `write_themes`.
- Skills that change store data run in `dry_run` mode first. A human confirms edits to the live theme and prices.
- Routines run as scheduled Claude Code tasks and need a configured Slack or file output.
- The Admin API version is pinned inside each skill (for example 2025-01) and has to be updated as new versions appear.
How to disable. Remove the Claude Code plugin through `/plugin`; skills installed through `npx skills` live in the agent's skills directory and are deleted with their folders. Disable routines in Claude Code's task settings and revoke the app's access in the Shopify admin.
FAQ
How do I install Shopify Admin Skills?
For any agent use `npx skills add 40RTY-ai/shopify-admin-skills`. In Claude Code there is a plugin path: `/plugin marketplace add 40RTY-ai/shopify-admin-skills`, then `/plugin install shopify-admin-skills@shopify-admin-skills`.
How does the set differ from the official Shopify plugin?
It is a community project: 116 ready store-operation scenarios and scheduled routines. Shopify's official set centers on docs, API schemas and code validation.
Do skills change store data without asking?
No. A skill first queries data, previews changes with `dry_run: true` and executes them only after confirmation. The theme-editing skill has `dry_run` on by default.
What are routines?
Ready-made scheduled Claude Code task definitions: a morning briefing, stock watch, fraud, payouts, a quarterly review. They run skills on cron and send the result to Slack or a file.
What Shopify permissions are needed?
They depend on the skill and are listed in its prerequisites. Editing theme files, for example, needs `read_themes` and `write_themes`, and sign-in goes through Shopify CLI.
