What it does
Shoplazza CLI manages a store on the Shoplazza platform from the terminal and answers commands with structured JSON that an agent reads easily. Commands come in three tiers: quick commands marked `+` for frequent operations, API commands synced with OpenAPI, and direct access to any method through `shoplazza api rest`. In total more than 400 commands cover products, variants, inventory, collections, discounts, orders, refunds, customers, blogs, pages, menus, webhooks and app charges. Developers get a full cycle: creating an app, extensions for checkout, themes and functions, a local server with an automatic tunnel, and one-command deploy. Themes build with live reload, multiple environments and packaging. Nine skills, `shoplazza-billing`, `shoplazza-common`, `shoplazza-customers`, `shoplazza-discounts`, `shoplazza-orders`, `shoplazza-products`, `shoplazza-shop`, `shoplazza-themes` and `shoplazza-webhook`, teach the agent to pick a command tier, read the `{"ok":true,"data":…}` response envelope and always run writes with `--dry-run` first. The CLI asks for confirmation before destructive commands.
Who it is for. Owners and developers of Shoplazza stores who run the catalog, orders and discounts or build themes and apps through Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
Good fit when
- The catalog has to be exported and prices and stock edited in bulk, but changes are reviewed first in `--dry-run` mode
- A sale is prepared from automatic discounts, coupons and flash sales and the agent creates them from a description
- The order list with refunds and delivery is processed from the terminal, without the store admin panel
- A developer works on a theme with live reload across several environments, for example a test and a live store
Not a fit when
- The store runs on another platform: the CLI knows the Shoplazza API only
- You use the agent in a web chat such as claude.ai or ChatGPT: the skills drive the CLI on your computer and do not work there
- The agent cannot be trusted with a live store: write commands change products, orders and customers
Example request
Show last week orders as a table and prepare a 10% automatic discount on a collection through `--dry-run`Limitations
- The skills drive the CLI on your computer, so the installed CLI and a `shoplazza auth login` sign-in are required. They do not work in web chat.
- Permissions are granted by domain: a repeat login replaces the granted permissions, so add them with `--merge-scopes`.
- Do not install the plugin and `npx skills add` together: the agent would see each skill twice. `shoplazza doctor` warns about it.
- An npm install needs Node.js 16 or newer, and a source build needs Go 1.24.
How to disable. The `shoplazza auth logout` command signs out and erases the stored credentials. The plugin is removed through the agent plugin manager, and the skills are deleted by `npx skills remove --global`.
FAQ
How do I install Shoplazza CLI?
Run `npm install -g shoplazza-cli` (Node.js 16 or newer is required). Other ways exist: the `install.sh` script, ready binaries on GitHub Releases, `brew install Shoplazza/tap/shoplazza-cli` and a `make install` build.
How do I install the skills in Claude Code?
With `claude plugin install shoplazza --marketplace Shoplazza/shoplazza-cli`. For other agents `npx skills add Shoplazza/shoplazza-cli -g` works. Pick one, otherwise each skill shows up twice.
How do I sign in to a store?
Run `shoplazza auth login --store-domain my-store.myshoplazza.com --domain products, orders`: a browser opens for OAuth. For CI there is a token sign-in, `shoplazza auth login --uat <user-access-token>`. `shoplazza auth status` shows the state.
Where are the credentials stored?
In the user configuration directory `shoplazza-cli/`, encrypted with AES-256-GCM and readable by the owner only. They are the account token and store tokens.
How do I guard against accidental changes?
Add `--dry-run` to write commands: the CLI shows the changes without applying them. The CLI itself asks for confirmation before destructive commands, and the skills make the agent run the trial mode first.
